Well, you said yourself that divorce/separation looks different for everyone, which is something I’d very much agree with. It doesn’t sound like their chosen dynamic is to help the kids facilitate the relationship with their mom; it sounds like this works for them right now and IMO doesn’t seem likely to change before the kids are out of the house. Regardless, if you’re not getting what you want or don’t think this is the right dynamic for you, I think moving on sounds like the right call.
