I don’t think you’re being too sensitive. I agree with @Anonymousse that your husband sounds like a problem. He should really be the one dealing with his ex and his mom and disciplining his kids if they are disrespectful or out of line. It doesn’t sound like you are a team at all. Couples counseling is probably a good idea.
