It’s an hourly rate and it’s about 1/2 the school year they will need me, the director said. I’d be the on call substitute for the entire art school- they are a public charter school and work a little differently than the district schools. They have a generous leave policy which is why they need me. The public schools here use a staffing service that pays $150/day, but that is K-12, any subject. Academics for this school are done online or in school and this school is solely art, dance, music and theatre in person for grades 6-12. It seems to be mostly high school students really focused on the arts.

I’m really excited because I was kind of looking for something more flexible and not 9-5 and that isn’t crushingly soul exhausting. The best part is the building…I am not sure if I have access to use like, the darkroom but wow, that’d be cool. I was thrilled walking around. I wanted to go there. He said they’re really looking for someone to connect with the kids, and seemed to think I’d be good at that.
