I’m crushed. No one fought harder for us, and the absence of her guiding light through these next few months will be especially acute. Thank you for everything, RBG.

Ugh, like there wasn’t enough going on in this craptastic year. RIP to the notorious RBG. I pray we get Trump out before her replacement is appointed but I dread that a nomination will be jammed down our throats immediately.
September 18, 2020, 8:11 pm
Few people come along in public life that are as inspiring as RBG. This is a sad day indeed.
September 18, 2020, 8:27 pm
We’re fucking screwed. The same asshole who denied Obama the chance to appoint a Supreme Court Justice is now saying that they need to love swiftly on Trump’s nomination.
Mind you, Obama had a lot more days in office that Trump potentially does.
I’m absolutely devastated and sick to my stomach.

I am absolutely devastated.
May she Rest In Peace.

Devastated & Frightened

Awesome RBG. A life well lived.
We need another female judge of her stature in SC.
Which is doubtful with the current Prez.
September 19, 2020, 5:14 am
RBG was wonderful, so inspiring. This is a terrible, terrible loss.
September 19, 2020, 8:05 am
Such a huge and painfully crushing loss of an icon. She fought for an equal and just society as hard as she could for as long as she could. I wish her family peace and healing.
As for the future of the country, women’s reproductive rights, gay rights, civil rights, voting rights, access to health care (ACA is before the Court the week after the election and even 4-4 will kill it because the lower court’s ruling striking it will stand), and every other issue that doesn’t directly make rich white men richer, well, things are looking incredibly bleak, you guys. I’m honestly just gutted and demoralized this morning.
All I’ve got is VOTE. Get every non-Trumper you know to vote. Make it such an overwhelming Biden victory that a 5-3 or, more likely, 6-3, SCOTUS understands that there is no way it can credibly overturn the election based on Trump’s inevitable claims of fraud when he loses. And then lean hard on Biden and the Dems to take our country back from this nightmare. We’re in such a deep hole, though, I don’t know if we can pull ourselves out with the levers before us.
September 19, 2020, 1:34 pm
Yes, vote, but also make calls, go to protests, send letters to get out the vote, and honestly donate as much as your can afford to donate to the Biden/Harris campaign as well as candidates who have the best chance to win against incumbent senators this November (that would be: Sara Gideon of Maine, Mark Kelly of Arizona, John Hickenlooper of Colorado, Cal Cunningham of NC, and Theresa Greenfield of Iowa, plus Amy McGrath challenging McConnell and Jaime Harrison challenging Graham.
This is the fight of our lifetimes. Everything hinges on this.
September 19, 2020, 1:52 pm
Oh, I definitely rage donated last night!
September 19, 2020, 1:58 pm
ActBlue was getting 100k A MINUTE last night and reported 45 million in donation fro the time RGB’s death was announced until noon today.
September 19, 2020, 4:15 pm
Thanking you for listing people to support. Much appreciated. I’ll make donations this week.
September 19, 2020, 1:46 pm
I had to take a Valium just now.
September 19, 2020, 1:59 pm
I feel you, girl.
September 19, 2020, 2:03 pm
I know you do!
September 19, 2020, 4:53 pm
So much in agreement, Wendy. Just read a French law professor who said today, about the USA and Supreme Court : democracies die when their actors don’t resist. This is the fight of a lifetime indeed. So incredible to watch from afar.

You can also text SIGN NTFIEZ to 50409 (Resistbot) to ask your representatives to agree to not confirm another justice until after the election.
It’s easy and automatically sends letters to your representatives in your area.

Thank you, @anonymousse! I just did this, after I saw your post. It was fun, and such a friendly chatbot. Then my sister did it, too! For some reason, I hadn’t heard of Resistbot before.
September 20, 2020, 12:37 pm
Nice! I’m glad you did it. It’s so easy.

This is the final nail in the coffin of failure by the DNC and their pathetic mishandling of 2016.
Suicide increasingly looks better and better.
