DW got a little makeover this week and I hope you like it as much as I do. It’s mostly cosmetic tweaks to the desktop version, which you can see if you clear your cache, like new font style, size, and color, but there are a couple usability changes I wanted to point out (again, mostly to the desktop version of the site). First, the social share icons are now on the right side of the header menu; you can click on any of the icons to follow DW on Facebook, instagram, etc. In addition to a search bar in the sidebar that you can use to search the archives, there’s now a search bar specifically for the forums, too, making it much easier to track down past forum discussions. I’ve updated the collection of most popular posts and added that tab to the header menu, which you can peruse at your leisure. And finally, if you’re reading the site on your phone and are interested in exploring the archives, you can do so more easily now by clicking the menu icon in the right corner (it looks like three horizontal lines) and clicking “archives,” where you’ll find every post published on the site in alphabetical order.
If you aren’t familiar with how website design works, it might surprise you what hiring someone to make these kinds of changes costs (or the hours of work involved, even for a professional), but thanks to your diligence in shopping through my Amazon affiliate link (handily found in the sidebar!), there was exactly enough commission made on your purchases last month, almost to the exact dollar, to pay for this little makeover. As always, your support is so appreciated — thank you, and I hope the site is cleaner-looking and more enjoyable for you to read!
