StoryCorps: A Family Man

In honor of Father’s Day this weekend, here’s a new animation from StoryCorps about the late John L. Black, Sr. who used to work 16-hour days to provide for his wife and eleven children.

Gee, you know, maybe he simply shouldn’t have had ELEVEN children…

Maybe, but that’s neither here nor there. He did the best he could with the family he had. You have to respect that.

I love StoryCorps! Love it! When I went to their website though they only had like 11 stories. I’m hoping there’s some vault of them somewhere. I could watch them for days.

I love it too! I saw this video the other day. I’m always so happy when I see that a new one is out.

This story made me tear up…his father reminded me a lot of my father – stern, quiet, hard working, but loving. He’s been gone 30 years – he passed in November 1982 – and I miss him so much. RIP, Daddy – Mr. John B. Morris. You were, and are, loved.
