I am (almost) in my mid-twenties, in grad school and support myself with a combination of loans, scholarships and part-time work. Because of my grad school, my boyfriend of seven months and I are in an LDR and only get to see each other about once a month — usually when I go home to visit my parents, who are conservative, Latino immigrants.
