She is anti-vaxx in general. Normally I have a “live and let live” approach because my kids and I are all vaccinated against MMR, flu, etc. This feels different, though, and it may just be pandemic quarantine amplifying emotions and not being able to just “hang out” … maybe we can just livestream watching a movie together or something that feels more normal.January 27, 2021 at 11:11 am #1009449BittergaymarkGuest
At this point in my life, I have no use for fools. I just don’t. More — I don’t even miss them. Not one bit.January 27, 2021 at 12:22 pm #1009461gjamesmGuest
I would not be friends with this person, not a chance. There has to be some mental illness involved in people who feel this way.January 27, 2021 at 12:37 pm #1009465Cookie doughGuest
I think we are all under more stress now but if you’re friend has been anti vax forever presumably that didn’t bother you before. I’m not saying there is anything wrong with feeling like you cant deal with it anymore but if this person is presumably such a close friend to merit the title “best” I would not do anything that has finality to it (like telling her you don’t want to talk to her anymore) but maybe just limit the amount of times you talk and certainly don’t talk about COVID or anything related. And then re evaluate when you’re under less stress. You may find your mind has changed, that being said you don’t need anyone’s permission to decide you don’t want someone in your life anymore just fade out.January 27, 2021 at 1:09 pm #1009470ronGuest
Where I live in PA, nursing home employees have refused the Covid vaccine and there has been discussion among management of making vaccination a job requirement and firing those who refuse. A local employment lawyer said the employees likely have a strong case, because of the status of these vaccines. If the vaccines were FDA approved, the employer would have a strong case, but since the FDA has only given ’emergency use’, rather than full, approval the reluctant employees have a case.January 27, 2021 at 1:28 pm #1009473BittergaymarkGuest
I am not at all fearful about the vaccines causing any harm. And yes — I think everybody should get it. That said —- I remain rather skeptical that they will prove very effective. It’s like the flu shot. I always get it. Yet still get the damn flu every other year… 🤷♂️
