How was the sushi? Did you try any raw seafood that appealed to you? I’m all about the raw seafood:) any good drinks to go with it? And how was the company?

BF and I made it a goal to find a drive in movie this summer. We did and it was awesome!! I loved it – two movies for $8 too! Nothing like it.

@Moneypenny I hope you go on a good date soon! I hate when I get stuck on a string of bad ones.

@TheLady I would go on a date only if you’re excited about it. If you’re just meh about someone I wouldn’t go. I used to force myself to go on dates and it never made me more excited.

@AF I’ve ALWAYS wanted to go on a drive in movie date! There’s one about and hour and a half from where I live so I think I’ll have to go soon.

So after my date Wednesday night I offered lawyer guy some options the next day because he always pays when we go out so I told him that I’d like to treat him. He got to choose from a. a movie b. ice cream parlor or c. a home cooked meal. He didn’t answer right a way but we did do some banter via text. He had friends in over the weekend so I left him alone but texted him last night and asked how his weekend had been since he said we should talk Sunday. He chose the ice cream option for Wednesday night. We haven’t had a weekend date yet because he seems to have plans every weekend. Not sure what to make of that but I’ll just look forward to the ice cream date and try not to worry too much about it.

@veritek – It was sooo awesome and romantic in that old school kinda way. I loved it and we even stayed after to make out in the lot for a bit when most of the cars left 😉

When my BF and I started getting serious (toeing the line from casual to LT), he made me a very nice dinner. It was so sweet, and it not being that ‘gourmet’ great was even more romantic – he TRIED something he wasn’t that ‘good’ at (he is an excellent cook now btw) just for me! It was so sweet- he also says he loves it when I cook for him.

Oh my god veritek, I’m so glad you started this thread! Yay for you and your dates! It sounds like a great time. Don’t worry about taking it slow… I think that’s a good sign. Also, I think no weekend dates if totally fine at first, but be sure to try and schedule one soon.

Soo… I had a third date Sunday. He lives in a high rise downtown, so we had a pool/bbq date. I have so much fun with him. Every time we’ve been out, we laugh consistently. Our sense of humor is similar and he’s really smart.

The catch? We work together, well not together, just at the same company. I’m not really concerned with that. I’ve had successful work relationships in the past. So, I guess it’s not a catch. Also, this is the first guy I’ve dated since the “kid.” For those of you familiar with that story.

    We have another date Wednesday.

And I lost a bet, so there will be a fifth.

I’m a little concerned we’re moving too fast. But not so concerned that I want to spread out the dates more.

I’ve had a string of ‘okay’ dates with people who were perfectly nice but I just didn’t feel that into. And one guy I was supposed to see over the weekend who stood me up, which was a bummer. Dating has been discouraging for me lately.

Oh, he was the last guy I dated. That was about 1.5 years ago. We were pretty good friends first, and I was smitten the first time we met. I think he was too. But we took it really slow. It ended because he moved to Colorado. It was awful and I was pretty sad about it. I talked a lot about him on here because it was just such an emotional whirlwind. Since then, I haven’t wanted to date, until now.

I can’t stress enough how much this new guy makes me laugh/smile. My face literally hurts after we’re done hanging out because that’s all I’m doing. Last night, I tried to not smile… and couldn’t turn my face into a frown at all. Fuck, I’m smiling just thinking about it.

Ooh… he’s 100% against type, physically, for me too. Maybe that’s a good thing? Wait, he does have blue eyes. So, that’s the only thing that’s on par with type. I usually date guys who could pass if not for my brother, or at least cousin… so similar looks to me. This new dude is not.
