I third that Ale… I mean, if he’s feeling guilty ok, pay you back as a sign of remorse. Glad you are building as much radio silence as you can, it will help you move on sooner and take the sting away. I’m proud of you for doing what you need to, to take care of yourself!

Can I sidebar? Two weeks ago my bf and I went to a really fancy brunch spot to meet up with friends (the kind of place that requires a reservation). My bf and I were the first to arrive and are very affectionate, and we went up to the host stand and checked in. We went to the front to wait for our friends, and as my friends walked in, my aforementioned ex came storming out of the restaurant very quickly looking mad. I haven’t seen him in over a year, so I took one look and literally ran the other way. My bf pretty quickly figured out what happened as the ex took off walking down the street. We all went in and had a fantastic brunch. The thing is, no one goes to a place like that alone and if you go to a restaurant with someone you generally leave with them. So I think he must have seen me with my tall, handsome bf and decided he wanted to leave right away and left whomever he was with there with to sort out the check. I also later realized it was his birthday. So, I think I ruined his birthday brunch. And thus, a year later, I won.

Ale, you may get your really belated revenge someday. I sure did.

That is a great story, hahaha. It’s been ages since I’ve run into a (serious) ex, and I’m glad. It’s super unlikely to happen, but I think I’d have a heart attack if I ever run into my last serious boyfriend; it ended so badly, so sadly.

The only time I’ve seen my ex was when I was talking on the phone and randomly looking out my bedroom window, only to see him walking into my condo building with a girl. I was like WTF is he doing in my new place??? (I had moved in a few months earlier, definitely didn’t tell him where I lived so it was a coincidence). Thankfully he didn’t see me, we didn’t talk, and I never saw him around again.

KMTTHAT is right about Karmic timing. I found out recently my ex of many years ago lost his job due to his drug usage. It was only a matter of time but it took four years to finally happen. I don’t really wish unemployment on anyone, but apparently dude needs some serious help.

That same ex and I went on a big trip two months before we broke up and I paid for it up front but he paid me back within a month. What is it about big trips leading to break ups?

I occasionally run into a guy who I dated for a couple months a couple years ago. We met online, but we live in the same neighborhood and work about two blocks away from one another. He full-on ghosted me — like, no fade out, just disappeared abruptly — and I feel uncomfortable every time I see him.

My first serious boyfriend was cheating on me with a girl who had a boyfriend for…awhile. When he found out she’d dumped her boyfriend, he ended things with me to be with her. Turns out, this girl was a trainwreck; she’d been cheating on her boyfriend with my guy AND another guy, and picked that other guy over my ex. (My ex went on to write sad poetry about this whole situation and post it all over the internet. HA.) Anyway, our breakup was still fresh when I found out, so I was delighted to hear that karma paid him a visit. A couple years later, I guess he met someone else and they dated for a couple years and moved across the country together last summer. I recently found out that the girlfriend he moved with/for met someone else — and left my ex for him. I truly thought all my petty anger was gone, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little bit satisfied when I heard. Karma, guys!

Haven’t run into any exes, but within the span of about a week I ran into two guys I hooked up with/went on dates with.

First guy was the one who full on ghosted me after 2 dates last fall. I saw him at a running race earlier this month; and beat him by a minute 😛 I kind of made eye contact with him but not sure if he recognized me. Just made me realize I may bump into him at future races/runs. Fun.

Other guy was one I hooked up with a couple times but declined to continue due to his crazy pant conspiracy theories he explained to me. I was at the Apple store and apparently I walked right by him and he said hi but I didn’t hear or see him. He then came by after and said hi, so no way to avoid that! Had a quick chat and went on our ways.

I am fortunate that any guys I seriously dated are elsewhere. Moving around the country is beneficial in some ways!

Amen to moving being great to avoid exes. That’s was a big reason that pushed me to move once and I’m so glad I did. Small town, ex with big weird feelings…it was a good choice.

    That was awesome @kmenthat.
With the first boyfriend, I actually had a revenge moment with my now exbf. When he saw my new, ultra tall and fit boyfriend he didn’t even greet me. And he greeted me every time he saw me with a big hug and a “How are you doing?” but in a very condescending tone.
