I have to give the first guy some props for honesty! Haha. Although red flag that he’s already mentioning his ex was a little crazy.
@Copa – Debra frustrated me to no end! I also would have kicked him out on day one.
I’ve noticed that Match, at least in my area, is almost as bad as Tinder. I opened a message this past summer that just said “wanna meet up and fuck?” And I’m thinking – “you paid 35 bucks a month to send me that message??!”
Everything he wrote in that message strikes me as odd. Of the three messages he sent, his first is self-deprecating and his second is red-flaggy. Seems like a Nice Guy (TM). I’ve only gotten one “DTF?” message on Match, and yeah, it’s kinda sad that anyone would pay to do that. I get frustrated that it’s a platform where people write out full profiles, yet I still get a ton of “Hey, sup?” first messages, and even more that Match suggests as openers. (Always the same formula. “Hi there. I see you like [interest from Match’s checklist]. [Question about interest here]?”) My expectations aren’t that high, but c’mon, it’s not THAT hard to read someone’s profile and write a few genuine sentences about it.
Quick update re: the guy who will work on his athleticism for me (heh): early September, he commented on a photo of mine that I look gorgeous. Late September he finally sent me a message: three blowing kisses emoji (nothing else). Then the message I pasted on the last page a little over a week ago. Then tonight, “I like you so much” with the heart eyes emoji. I’ve never responded. WTF.
Hey guys! So, my boyfriend visited my city over Christmas and he met my mom and my friends. They all really like him and he told me he was really happy he met them! Most importantly, he met my cats and I think they have decided to adopt him. Before he left to go back home, he went around the house to kiss each of the kitties and say goodbye… I think I nearly teared up lol.
We looked at apartments online together, at his suggestion. He took me shopping and bought me a beautiful pair of freshwater pearl studs as my Christmas present. We went window shopping for furniture. The visit was short but it was really really nice.
We did not talk about officially getting engaged, but there’s still lots of time. Still 8 more months before my planned moving date. He’s planning to come back here in the summer and I will meet his family at that time.
@MissDre how was your boyfriend’s visit here for the holidays? Also could you repost your IG account for your company, I work with a lot of companies in Ontario who are small and cannot afford to hire on a full time marketing/PR person, but could use someone on a part time or consulting basis.
