Sickness has hit the Hizzy house, I was the first one to get it. House guest #1 is on the outs with it soon I think,… Our weather swings have been insane, the ending of the crazy last 5 months ended, my body finally said “I’M DONE!”

I took Monday and Tuesday off and slept until 11 am both days. Tell tale sign of me being sick for SURE! Hopefully having a few more positive changes before the new year. Send all the good juju!

We also are going to start to register for wedding gifts. What are things you have in your household that you love, hate or would/wouldn’t recommend! We’re doing mostly a cash fund for a future honeymoon/house repairs, but some of the old school people want to give us actual gifts.

    Oh no. Sleep sleep sleep.

Things I’m glad i have for registry.

-if you intend to host chaffing dishes.
    -insta pot
-good knives (i only have three knives I don’t buy the block. A chefs knife, a paring and a bread. The rest I never used and this allows me to buy nicer ones that have lasted a very long time and are still going strong). Plus the steak knives.
-mixer (use mine constantly). If you don’t bake this may not get so much use but I use it for some cooking as well.
-some nicer serving dishes for hosting.

    Get better @theHizzy!

I agree – good knives are a must.
I also love my tea kettle if you like to have tea (or quick hot water for other things like hot cocoa or oatmeal)
Crock-pot. I like mine but don’t use it as often as I’d like. I also have a pressure cooker which I use maybe a couple times a year (and every year I say I’m going to use it more and I never do). Sometimes you just don’t know how much you’ll use something until you have it!

Husband and I have a photo shoot this weekend. I decided to do it in the downtown here, which is small but really old and historic, right on the river, so I think it will provide a good backdrop plus there are holiday lights lining the streets. Debating what to wear though. It will be cold but I am not really wanted to be bundled up looking like a giant wool snowman. ha

Thinking I may dress up and suffer, throw on coat or go inside to warm up, repeat. It won’t be very long anyway and I am willing to suffer a bit to get the shots I want. I am going through Pinterest for outfit ideas. Thinking about tights (I have fleece lined tights so that will help) with this big thule skirt i have and a cute top.

Any ideas? Pants are not happening, even though it would be nice and warm as it just isn’t the look I am going for.

I don’t know, I think you’re going to die outside in a tulle skirt and a top. That would be cute for an interior shoot inside a hotel or restaurant. I think what people would wear for an outside shoot like this would be a cute teddy coat or wool coat and a scarf. Over a dress and tights and boots. You can have the coat buttoned/belted or open, or both.

We’re doing an engagement shoot in January and where I live it’s hit and miss on what the weather will be. So I’m considering the same thing too @JD. I am leaning more towards sweater dress. Who knows.

Ops hit send cause my phone rang. I think the tights will help, also I’m obsessed with fleece lined tights since I really do hate pants. I of course have to try on to be sure I even like the look. Black heels and must find a proper top. It would work with a sweater thinking of it. So that will help too. I’d do it indoors but I haven’t found anywhere inside not ugly frankly. Obviously I haven’t been into every building but I’ve searched and searched. It won’t be snowing, just cold, so I’ll suck it up, while keeping the car warm nearby. Ha.

Yeah you can wear a cropped sweater or a thin sweater tucked in. I bet you could find an interior with a nice window to stand in, maybe you can see out to the street and lights but be inside at least for part of it.

I settled on my nail polish color at least. Ha. Bahama Mama by Essie. An all time favorite.

Side note, kid is in training for new job this evening so we will be out to drop him off anyway and thinking it’s a dinner out night with hubs. Craving not cooking dinner.

Ok it has been decided. Sort of this, but a different color sweater as white/cream washes me out.
