    I don’t know how I missed this news but congrats Veritek, that’s so exciting! I’m sorry in-law bullshit gets in the way of it yet again. Those people need some house training.

    We just had a really close call with Covid. My husband eats lunch with the same 4-5 guys every day at varying fast food restaurants and one of them tested positive on Friday. My husband got tested also on Friday and his is negative. Barley dodged that bullet. And now that it has finally almost (though I don’t feel we are out of the woods for sure until the 14 days is up) hit home he has agreed to quit eating lunch with them. All the other guys also tested negative. IDK how only one is positive. Maybe he wasn’t contagious yet? But since I’m immunocompromised I’m hoping we are safe. (Neither one of us have any symptoms so crossing my fingers).

    Yikes. They were saying on TV that not everyone spreads it the same. A relatively few people spread it a lot and others really don’t. And I think they said 60% of the time, people who live in the same household as an infectious person don’t catch it.

    Wow, I have not heard that about the spreading of the virus. I feel like information on the virus is all over the place. I’m not sure I trust the CDC anymore (not that there isn’t some good information there).Numbers in our county are going up exponentially right now. Back to being even more of a hermit for the time being.

    Praying you and your husband stay negative, @rangerchic. That is scary.

    Colleagues of mine go out to lunch together still and I’m sure they are not all distanced. I think people have decided that effectively we have all bubbled at work and generally we are all sensible so people shouldn’t get COVID. However I have to remind myself that any preventative measures help even if others think I’m being paranoid.

    So far so good. Friday will be 14 days and none of here in the house have any symptoms. Though I am feeling more….depressed? Melancholy? Something like that the last few weeks. Usually I bounce out of it in a day or two but this time not so much.

    How oddly coincidental. Friday is my deadline, too. From what I hear, Rangerchic, it is very unlikely we would get sick this late in the game.

    @Rangerchic and @BGM I’m glad you two are almost out of the woods and hope for negative test results.

    @Rangerchic
    My moods have been up and down this entire time, and my lows last longer at this point than they did early on. I have teletherapy appointments about once/month and my therapist and I have talked about it, she says it’s a common theme, and tells me to keep riding the waves up and down and try not to fall in, basically. It’s harder than ever with the election right around the corner, but I hope your mood bounces back up soon!

    I just found out that one of my friends, who moved in with her now-ex boyfriend in June, had to be hospitalized last week and have two surgeries because he beat her with a golf club. I’m so angry, shocked, and upset about it. I haven’t liked her last couple boyfriends, but this one seemed SO great. I really liked him and I’m disgusted.

    @Copa – holy shit, that’s absolutely horrible. Wow. I’m so sorry. I hope she heals soon physically and gets away from him.

    I am so sorry to hear about your friend Copa. Hope she recovers from the injuries soon.

    I am not surprised that you liked him. From my own experience also, a lot of psychopaths are often charming when we first meet them.

    @Copa, holy shit, I’m so sorry. That is awful awful news. I hope he’s charged, and that she is on the road to recovery.
