My friend made my wedding cake and it was such a lovely gift, and truly nicer than a bakery one. If she hadn’t done it I doubt we would have had one. Usually they’re so overworked by the time they get to the wedding they’re more art than food.

Damn. It. My Airwrap stopped working and wouldn’t turn back on after I cleaned the filter. I had to finish my hair with the John Frieda, then call Support. They will replace it but don’t have the color I purchased, so it will be the black & purple. Very annoying for a product I’ve had 6 months and used 1-2x per week, AND cost that much money. I’d be happier if they had the fuchsia one in stock.

Oh no! That’s… honestly pretty bad considering the price tag. (I was mad when my first Revlon brush crapped out after like a year and the price was much lower.) Hopefully not the norm because I’m leaning toward keeping mine. When I ordered mine, the website said they were out of stock but that they were taking orders for their next restock several weeks out, but then literally the next day I got a shipping notification email and the day after that, it was at my door. So, maybe you’ll get lucky and get the fuschia one even though they say it’s out of stock.

So I got a nice lady on Chat, and she told me they can send the Smoothing kit in pink and I should keep my case, round brush, and the soft paddle brush, so I’ll have a complete set in pink. Yay! It’s under warranty so they do replace. But Jesus.

I finally used the smaller barrel to curl my hair this morning because I have a Saturday morning meeting (how fun). Initially was horrified by the tight ringlets but I raked through it with my hands and it’s fallen a bit, so now it looks nice, soft, and bouncy. I prefer for it to fall a bit more. I’ve finally figured out how to section off my hair for easiest/best results and now can tell when the section of hair I’ve grabbed is too big. I can sip my coffee while I curl, which is also nice, haha.

Yeah, I do want to do more with those small barrels but not have it take my hair up to my chin!

Breaking news for those with the Revlon or John Frieda brush. I saw a girl on YouTube just twist the Revlon the entire time, never pulling it all the way through straight, but just like, half turn from the roots and twist twist twist. I tried it with the JF while I wait for my replacement Airwrap and it’s a great look! Like a beach wave. Now my hair has a lot of natural wave like the girl in the video so I’m not sure if it works on straight hair, but it’s cute!

@Copa, you should try Fashion Pass when you are ready to go places again. I ordered on a whim Friday night and got my stuff today. It’s all very cute, fashionable, pretty expensive clothes. I signed up to get 3 clothing pieces and 2 accessories at a time, but you can get plans with less or more. You can just wear / rent, or buy for a discount. Most of the stuff had the tags on (brand new!). They have gowns and fancy dresses, date and brunch stuff, work attire, vacation clothes, coats, all kinds of stuff. No jeans though. Haverdash has jeans.

I got a Mink Pink dress, a For Love and Lemons top, a Daydreamer Def Leppard T-shirt, a BB Dakota blouse, sunglasses, another little top that they called an accessory, and they threw in a bralette. It all fits. Actually they sent me 4 items instead of 3, I guess the Def Leppard T-shirt is a bonus too. It’s crazy!

Also, you get to choose exactly what items you want, when you want them. With Haverdash, it’s cheaper but they send you 3 items from among things you pre-selected, based on what’s available. You can’t be like, I want to definitely get this dress this week, or these three things for a trip. This costs more but seems worth it.

I saw some guy with long hair do that on TikTok with his Revlon brush and tried it, but it didn’t really work for me. I don’t think I was doing it right.

On day two of my small barrel curls with the Dyson, I threw it up into a ponytail and went for a jog. There was still curl in them afterward, which was a pleasant surprise. I have a hard time salvaging my hair after workouts.

I’ve never heard of Fashion Pass but will look into it! I didn’t realize you can’t pick when you’d like to receive things from Haverdash. I believe RTR also has a clothing rental service that allows you to pick when you’d like to receive which item, but have never looked into the specifics of how it works or what it costs.

That is a bummer, Kate! I am almost ready to pull the trigger on buying the Dyson once it is in stock. I’ll have to try that Revlon technique.

We just found out there is a charity race on our wedding day so all of the hotels by our venue are booked right now! This race does occur every year that weekend but with COVID it was just not on our radar. We have found an available hotel in the suburbs about 15-20 min away. If you were a guest would you want a shuttle? There are taxis and Uber but those aren’t the best in the suburbs. Getting from the venue back to the hotel would be fine. We were looking forward not having to deal with logistics of transportation but I think we have to. Hard to say how many guests will want to stay the night.

Hmm. That’s a tough one. Uber/Lyft isn’t very reliable right now, maybe it will be better in a few months (I can’t remember when you’re wedding is). I think it would be nice to arrange for a shuttle.

That’s only if everyone is staying at the same hotel and you have quite a few people there. If it’s just a few, I think Uber/Lyft are fine.
