I mean, they are replacing the Airwrap for free, but still.

There may be something wrong thats easily fixable, but the repair shop is like 20 miles away (that’s light years in Boston-area time), and I just don’t have that flexible of a schedule. My dad said their Dyson stick vacuum stopped working, and he found some piece of fluff that had gotten jammed in behind the filter or something and pulled that out and it worked again… but I’m not going to try to take the Airwrap apart and mess with it. My replacement should arrive tomorrow and we’ll see if they got it right, etc. Still not cool.

Oh, @Kate, we might visit Boston for a weekend in June.

Oh, cool! Let me know if you want recommendations. I would meet you for a drink but sounds like it’s just a quick trip. Definitely up for it though!

I would probably want a shuttle if I were a guest. Might be really tough for them all to try to get rides, with the timeshare shortage.

It’s June of next year so we really don’t know what the Uber situation will be or if the race will continue. There’s time to figure it out. I thought I was premature in asking for a room block but these things are out of our control.

How long is the warranty, @Kate?

Will do! One of the husband’s good friends lives there, actually one of the two couples that I really enjoy being around out of all his friend’s. We’ll stay at a hotel. Maybe I’ll have to sneak away.

So, I think in situations where transportation may be a problem, a shuttle option for guests is nice. It’s also a safe ride for anyone who may be tempted to drink and drive. A couple years ago, we went to a wedding in the suburbs and the group of friends we were with (8 of us in total) wanted to get back to city, where we all lived, to go to a bar together. We needed two cars, which took probably 45 minutes to get to us, then it was another 30+ minutes back into the city. It was fine, but not great. So if it’s in the budget, I do think it’s a nice thing to offer people. If it’s not in the budget, people will be fine.

Years ago at a wedding I went to in the Napa area, where shuttles seem to be very common for weddings guests, two guests hopped on the shuttle for the other bride staying at the same hotel, whose names happened to be nearly identical. They eventually realized they were at the wrong wedding, got into a cab or Lyft to get to the correct venue, but mistakenly ended up at the vineyard’s tasting room, which was separate/in a different location from the estate where the wedding was being held. They ended up bailing on the wedding because finding cabs in the area was not super fast and getting wine drunk instead. Everyone thought it was hilarious.

One year. I guess after that I’d have to pay to get it repaired. In my opinion, nothing should go wrong with something this expensive for at least a couple years.

    Planned obsolescence is absolutely real.

I mean, I’m also a total idiot, so there’s that.

I thought the Dyson had a two-year warranty! I still need to register mine, but I did think it was two.
