I was bummed I didn’t like the Madewell jeans enough to pull the trigger. The fit was otherwise great but I thought I’d be uncomfortable sitting down or bending over in a pair of jeans that are so hit well above my belly button. Maybe I should’ve taken a pair home to wear around the house for an afternoon to see.

I need new sunglasses in a terrible way. I always buy cheaper ones because I used to lose or break them constantly. I’d go to TJMaxx or a similar store and try pairs on until I found an inexpensive pair that fit well, and that’d be it. My current go-to pair are very scratched up. I might even buy a “nice” pair from a real glasses store this time because I’ve had my current pair for years now, so I think I’m past the losing/breaking phase. I also just don’t feel comfortable at this point going into a store like TJMaxx and putting glasses on my face without knowing if they’ve been sanitized.

Also, I got a free travel sized BADgal BANG! mascara at Sephora last week and whoa! I really like this one.

Madewell does have a lot of higher jeans right now, unfortunately. I do think they still have a few mid rise styles, but prob online only. I like the price, the pocket placing, and the fact that I’ve never had saggy butt from them.

    I’m a Rayban fan.

If anyone is in the market for a new sunscreen, I jumped on the Supergoop bandwagon and I really like it. I’ve been noticing that my go-to sunscreens weren’t great for my dry skin. When we went to Utah in April, for instance, I noticed that my skin (especially on my face) was basically flaking off anytime I reapplied and then I’d be dealing with little clumps of dried skin mixed with sunscreen and not really knowing if I’d applied thoroughly. Anyway. I like their Glowscreen for under make-up (the Unseen Sunscreen is also great for this, has the texture of a primer and probably the better option for anyone who doesn’t have dry skin) and even my boyfriend noticed their everyday full body sunscreen (Play) had a nicer, easier application.

so, if youre in the market for a pair of nice sunglasses, may i recommend the RayBan fold ups? I bought these 4 or 5 years ago at Nordstrom and yes. i still have them. They are currently surviving my toddler and I ALWAYS keep them in the case because it’s so small it actually fits in my purse!

Hi everyone! I haven’t been around in such a long time, since my work network blocked the site. But anyway, I’m still single all these years later. I’m more interested in clothes talk anyway. I’m wearing a Madewell linen blouse right now and just generally love their dresses and shirts. I just bought my first pair of Madewell jeans from Gilt about two weeks ago. They are high-waisted, but that’s my preference bc I have some loose skin on my abdomen from losing weight. The fit is pretty good and they are super comfortable, but I do need to get the waist taken in. That probably would not be a problem for people with a normal-sized butt, but I definitely skew to the Kardashian side. I’m even more pleased now that Ktfran says she’s never gotten a saggy butt from them lol. I have a lot of casual stuff from Free People, too, that’s held up pretty well.

6pm.com and Gilt both have a lot of designer sunglasses on deep discount, if you know your styles and don’t mind buying online.

For the big-butted among us (anyone? just me?)–I have found that J brand will flatten your butt in the ugliest way possible. I have had success with Lucky Brand, though, and Seven for All Mankind

I also have a butt and I think this makes my ratios “off” for what most retailers sell. I constantly have issues with pants that fit at the waist, but will be too tight in the butt/thighs… or pants that fit the butt/thighs and are gaping at the waist. It’s super frustrating so I will keep the brands you recommended in mind since I’ve been looking for 1-2 new pairs. I’m willing to splurge if it means a good fit. I finally found a pair of cutoff denim shorts that fit appropriately this spring after looking for several years.

As an aside, I’d gained some weight during COVID and have been trying to improve the habits that I let slide to bring my weight back down. I don’t weigh myself too often, but have noticed physical changes that aren’t weight-related. I am feeling pretty good about it and more confident in my appearance again, which has been nice.

I ordered some of the Old Navy linen pants and am wearing them for the first time today. LOVE!!!! I have the myrrh. I want in other colors now. However, my body type is pretty straight and narrow.

You could try the Curve Love jeans at Abercrombie. I know that brand isn’t cool anymore but their jeans are actually pretty good. Smaller waist and bigger butt/thighs.

I gained 15lbs during covid. I am not triggered by calorie tracking so I’m doing that and lots of walking plus PiYo workouts at home. I have lost 8.

I have to log my food and exercise and weight to stay accountable or I just fall off.

Ha, so I’ve actually noticed that some of the style influencers or whatever that I follow on social media, who are probably around my age, are shopping at Abercrombie again! And American Eagle. These stores were cool when I was in high school and I think may be coming back around. When I was a college freshman and sophomore, I wore this one denim mini skirt basically every time I went out to parties and I keep seeing similar skirts in storefronts. Mine was from Hollister and I loved it.

And the weight thing… I’ll catch myself getting hung up on my weight when I actually don’t think it’s the best indicator of progress (for me). I’m more concerned with how things fit, how I look, and how I feel, but will hop on the scale occasionally to see where I’m at. I should probably take measurements, tbh, but I don’t. For a long time, I was at the same weight I was at in my mid-20s but I was a dress size smaller thanks to strength training.

I have not been to Abercrombie in such a long time. It used to be a whole sensory experience. I can smell the perfume now! I’ll have to check out their jeans. I’m still working from home, and we’re only going back 3 days a week when we do finally go back. So my whole wardrobe is shifting more casual now that I no longer have to wear business attire 5 days a week. I do find that it’s helpful for me to actually get dressed, though, even though I’m working from home, just to help me switch gears in the morning from home to work.

My problem was jeans and tops still fit. I didn’t realize what happened til I tried on a dress! If it wasn’t the pandemic I think I’d have realized sooner.
