We went to Costco this past weekend, actually, for the first time since before COVID. I’d heard about long lines to get in but there weren’t any. Didn’t feel overly-crowded for a Sunday afternoon. It was fine. Miss the samples, though, haha.
I got some pretty good news yesterday. Have not been able to hang out with my parents or go down to the Cape where they’re staying. But this weekend we’re down here on cape cod because they’re at their apartment in Boston which they’re giving up soon because they bought like a detached condo/house in this same town on the Cape, to live permanently.
So they just got an offer on their condo that they’ve had for 30 years. The buyer wants all the furniture, so the condo will be sitting here with the furniture in it until whenever they close, which would be end of July or possibly August. That means my husband and I can use it until then and even bring friends.
This morning we scattered some of the ashes of our dog who died in October, at his favorite swimming spot. It was a lovely warm morning with no breeze, and no one happened to be at the little beach so we had a private moment to scatter the ashes into the water and have a word. He would have loved swimming today.
Yeah, me too. Being in the city without a yard is rough. Our previous home had a roof deck, but the location was meh. Our location now is prime, but no outdoor space. There’s a thing that used to be a fancy garden in the 1920s but now it’s just the garage roof. Somebody is always sunbathing out there lately though.
Well, surprisingly, wishing this away did not work and AL/SC/AZ/FL/AR/TX/ are all having outbreaks. Commonality appears to be high temperatures forcing people indoors and no mask laws.
Local Palm Beach county news yesterday:
1. Flag day/Cheeto Birthday boat parades and tailgating. Not a mask in sight.
2. Continued peaceful protests – 80% -90% of the folks had masks.Yes, when I saw the protesters march past my condo two friday’s ago, most were wearing a mask.
I don’t like what I see when I’m taking my normal, daily walks. On Sunday, so many groups were walking together and taking up the sidewalks waiting to get into restaurants.
A friend invited a few people over to her rooftop patio on Saturday and it was glorious. It was the first time I’ve seen anyone outside of my boyfriend and sister since like February.
My company usually hosts two conferences per year, one in June and one in December. I’m supposed to be in STL for it right now, but instead this year we’re doing everything remote. Thursday, Friday, and Monday will be Zoom meeting after Zoom meeting and I’m curious to see how big of a cluster this is going to be.
