I was specifically speaking on the first ladies I have lived through. HRC’s horrific treatment of every other women her husband ever slept with simply skeeved me out. (I was in college —- and idealistic.) Both Clintons just seemed trashy to me all through his Presidency. Their endless lies —- coupled with her demonization of the other women was beyond reprehensible to me. Truthfully, it should have killed her political ambitions right then. It was simply THAT gross. Honestly? It baffles me it didn’t. That said it certainly didn’t help her win in 2016. And here we are.
So, my kitchen just got trashed. The neighbor upstairs was having a dishwasher installed, but didn’t mention it to the building manager, and didn’t turn the water off. Suddenly I hear water pouring down, so I go in the kitchen and it’s coming through the ceiling in a torrent. And then it started breaking through in multiple areas. I went upstairs in a panic and that’s when I heard about the dishwasher. The super turned the main water off but it took a while. So yeah, it’s absolutely trashed, and I almost had a total panic attack because this is happening in a pandemic. I also had to do a presentation so I kept it together. But I wanted to just cry. The super sent a crew over from a cleanup company and they showed up and set up those big fans. That will go on for 3 days, and I’m not even sure if we can cook after that. And then renovations. Insurance will cover it, but this is just fucked. Also the water is off in the bathrooms. I’m working in a hotel room around the block right now. I feel somewhat traumatized.
Oh no, I’m sorry, Kate!! I’m glad insurance will cover it but that is so disturbing especially during this time.

Yeah. And she called me and was like, “it’s nobody’s fault.” Like, really? She’s a lawyer. My parents have actually known her for 25 years, her wife was their estate lawyer but she passed away from cancer in 2019. I feel bad, but I’m also perplexed at how she’s not taking responsibility at all. When I went up there in a panic and knocked on her door, she was just like, oh yeah, I know. No urgency, and meanwhile my kitchen is flooding.
Um… nobody’s fault would be a pipe randomly breaking. But this? A botched installation? It’s her fault. 100%. Sue her.
Omg. I’m sorry that happened to you. I’m at least glad for you that insurance will cover it but I’d lose my shit. In general, and probably then at the neighbor because that does sound like her fault. Yikes.
That would make me so angry. “It’s no ones fault.” Ugh, yes it is. The person installing it should have known better and if she had any sense she would have known better, too. I’d be livid. She’s absolutely responsible for the damage and should be apologizing, not shirking responsibility.
Make sure it’s NOT your insurance that pays for this, Kate. Don’t raise YOUR rates! And you probably so already know this… but that hotel bill? That needs to be paid by the negligent party as well…
