Classy mark bullied 5-10 loyal commenters on this site last week for claiming to be abused as children!
Real classy, Mark! Making fun of women and bringing up statistics of child abuse is so funny to do directly to women in a conversation about their abuse. Hilarious AND so classy!
I’ve been a jerk to you and called you out every way since. Before that I ignored you because you whine and you’re boring and just repeat the same selfish complaints and tend to cacti. Yawn.
Years ago, I thought you were funny. I’ve grown though, and I realize you’re just an asshole.December 9, 2021 at 2:56 pm #1100839KateKeymaster

Okay. And now — your spiuting utterly delusional nonsense.
Get a grip.December 9, 2021 at 3:09 pm #1100841
LOL, right. I have a feeling a few people remember what I’m talking about.
The classy thing is to shut up when you don’t know what you’re talking about. You wouldn’t do that last week, and literally posted links that made OUR entire point. But you don’t seem to be able to remember that?
You’re not a parent. Parenting is something you know next to nothing about. So shut up about it.
It seems like you didn’t learn that in charm school, mark. Also, the whole “try not to be a dick to others at every moment of your day.”
Get a grip, so so so c l a s s y. What a gas!December 9, 2021 at 5:52 pm #1100842KipianiGuest
Good news (although I’m trying not to jinx it)! The school has revised its policies to allow kids to remain in school after a direct exposure with a series of negative tests. If necessary, quarantine will be 10 days, down from the original 14. I’m hoping the new policies will work out & lead to fewer days of missed school. Cautiously optimistic.
And in terms of parents reporting positive Covid results: Allowing your child to go to school in that case is, in my view, ethically wrong. But I’m hoping that the more lenient guidelines will encourage more parents to honestly report positive results & direct exposures, if the “consequences” are altogether less severe, and hopefully being encountered less often. Shaming rarely works in these situations (though it may be deserved!) – so if we’re going to try to fight this we need to combine medical science with an understanding of psychology and sociology. Think: abstinence-only education versus instruction on safer sex; not giving workers paid sick days & being upset when they come to work sick.
Part of this is, and has ultimately always been, about risks versus benefit. And I think for parents who’ve been cautious, gotten vaccinated, etc., many now feel that the risk to their kids’ development & their family life is greater than the physical risk of Covid. I can’t control whether my neighbors get vaccinated. But if The vaccine is widely available and vulnerable individuals can take additional precautions to protect themselves? Life has to go on at some point.December 9, 2021 at 7:09 pm #1100844
Mark, you really believe I am the commenter in the community who is known for telling people to fuck off? For their bitterness and hatred? For their scathing comments without an ounce of empathy?
I have been honest about my mental health. That you think it’s funny to tell me to get a grip is pretty sad, even for you. You literally told childhood female victims of sexual abuse to let our 6/7 year olds “grow the fuck up,” because some of us expressed understanding the hesitancy from that mother in that post. You raked us over the coals for that. That you feel good about that and are still defending it is delusional AND sick. I hope that’s a new low for you.
That you listen to talk radio is no surprise to me. Victims aren’t real on talk radio. Sure, get all offended and call me ageist for calling you grandpa for getting your finger “on the pulse” of what’s happening in this country with a medium mostly old white conservative men create and listen to. My husband is your age. My 90 year old grandfather whom I respect and love does not listen to that crap. I’m not an ageist, but just maybe you should stop absorbing that shit. You might spew less bile then.December 9, 2021 at 8:01 pm #1100847KateGuest
Anonymousse, he just wants someone to engage with him. You don’t have to.
Mark, that really was sick and fucked-up behavior on the other thread about sexual abuse of kids, even for you. A new low. And on this current thread, I don’t even know what to say. You’ve really passed the point where you can be taken seriously as a human.December 9, 2021 at 8:16 pm #1100848KateGuest
That talk radio shit does make sense though as to where you get your talking points.December 9, 2021 at 8:18 pm #1100849BittergaymarkGuest
Hopefully, that new policy will go better than I suspect it will. It seems based on a lot of wishful, magical thinking. Which is largely why things are presently such a mess.
It’ll be an interesting winter at any rate.December 9, 2021 at 8:25 pm #1100850BittergaymarkGuest
But hopefully I am wrong. Maybe this new variant will prove to be overblown.
I have been wrong about much during Covid. Hell, I actually thought the masses would come to their senses and start taking this seriously. That never happened in most states.
Something I still find flat out bizarre.December 10, 2021 at 9:04 am #1100854Dear WendyKeymaster
Mark, I agree with others that you’ve crossed a line lately that isn’t tolerable, and respecting the long history you have here on DW, I’m not going to block you, but I am asking you to please take a long break from the site. If you choose not to and the harassment and abuse continues – and I apologize that I was mostly absent from the other thread that crossed the line; I missed some of what people are referencing – then I’ll take more aggressive measures to protect the rest of the community here. Thank you.December 10, 2021 at 9:42 am #1100859AllornoneGuest
BGM, I live in Florida. Trust me, you can’t possibly hate Desantis more than I. And you’re right, opening schools this early was dumb. Desantis trying to bar mask mandates in schools was dumb and illegal. But the parents that post on this forum didn’t make those decisions- they are simply trying to deal with the consequences. Saying they’re wrong for venting their frustrations, frustrations that were literally caused by decisions they didn’t make that you’re opposed to, is wildly off-base. Just because they knew what they were getting into when they had kids? Um, no. No one was prepared for this. Yes, there are parents out there worth being mad at-the parents that are actively causing the forced quarantines by not taking the virus seriously and letting their potentially exposed kiddos go to school. From what I can gather, that’s no one on this site. I don’t have kids, and never will. But dang, even my own self-absorbed butt can show a little empathy…
