    @miel that’s wonderful! Congrats!

    I remember we were done with our Corona wedding and home by 8 pm and promptly passed out from exhaustion. I had the same thought – how bad would this have been if we’d had the original number of guests to entertain rather than just the ten we had!

    @Miel Congratulations! I’m glad you had a great wedding day!

    I’m not in a foul mood this week like I was last week, thank goodness. Looks like IL is also on track to enter Phase 3 at the beginning of June, which surprised me. But I may have misunderstood what we need to achieve for our next phase. But, it means hair cuts and small groups, among other things. I’d already purchased two gift cards to my salon and today booked a hair appointment for mid-June (my salon already has limited June availability). I’m not sure I’ll feel comfortable in a group of 10 immediately, TBH.

    My parents are in a different state that’s further along so my sister brought up the idea of us visiting them in June, but my dad is still uncomfortable. I was on the fence about it and his reservations about the idea confirmed that it’s still too soon.

    We are trying to figure out a safe protocol for visiting my in-laws. It’s probably going to be masked, outdoors in their yard, and distanced. Maybe if our respective areas (Philly and NJ) continue to have caseloads drop we’ll relax a bit. But I don’t really trust them to be careful so this is how we’re going to start.

    Anyway, I suspect that many of you have seen this, but I found it pretty helpful in assessing the risks of different kinds of situations, particularly as we inch out of quarantine.

    No curling! Everyone is talking about all the curling they want to do, but pick a different winter sport!

    @Miel honestly that sounds like a perfect wedding day to me! Cooking! No guests! Sweet and intimate ceremony!

    But hopefully you will still be able to celebrate afterwards with all the friends and family, it is a day to share with them all 🙂

    Something sweet to think about amongst the abnormal life we have right now.

    @Miel, that sounds so fricking wonderful. Congratulations!

    I just feel a lot of guilt right now. My mom has been asking me to come over for dinner for a while. I have been seeing my parents, exchanging baked goods and such, always keeping a distance. I agreed to have dinner with them. We kept our distance mainly but there were times we were closer, putting away dishes and such. It was a nice dinner. It was nice after so long. No hugs. But I feel guilty and maybe I should, especially seeing how strict other people are.

    I feel guilty that I do see my boyfriend on the weekends. I am so grateful to have someone to touch. I feel guilty that those truly living alone do not have that. My boyfriend and I always said that if there were a true lock down (e.g., no cars on roads except emergency workers) then he would move in. But there hasn’t although, yes, we are breaking quarantine to see each other.

    Yeah, I’m kind of at a loss for how it will ever really be safe to visit my parents and actually be indoors with them. Or my aunt in a nursing home. I will get a vaccine if there is one, but there might not be.

    We just had a staff meeting. There will be no raises this summer or holiday bonuses in December. Not surprising. We’re not at the point of cutting pay or laying people off (…yet?) so I’ll take it. I graduated into the last recession waist deep in student loan debt and that period of my life was so tough. I think about it regularly and have for years, always felt like I was waiting for the other shoe to drop. And here we are!
