Being in class is the worst thing. The absolute worst thing. I start thinking about negative stuff all the time, I have trouble breathing, my skin feels like it is burning and I want to tear it apart. I think over and over about how I must kill myself while I am there. It doesn’t matter if the door is closed, so I don’t think it is about closed spaces. I feel this way nonetheless.
Even at home, being in the same room with someone else causes me dysphoria that I can’t handle. It gets so much worse if someone is actually near me. I can’t. I’m crying on the road, I’m crying in class, I’m crying when I come back home. I always try to make sure there is enough physical space away from others, but it’s not always possible and it doesn’t make it okay, just a bit less of a problem. It’s much more intense if they are close.
I don’t know what to do.November 17, 2021 at 11:38 am #1100153
You need to go to your school’s health center and ask for help with social anxiety. There is absolutely treatment for this.November 17, 2021 at 11:48 am #1100160
We don’t have a health center or anything like that, but I thought of social anxiety and I don’t have any thoughts about people judging me, that seems to be a basic pattern in social anxiety disorder. I don’t care at all about judgements, actually.November 17, 2021 at 11:51 am #1100161
That’s just a start, you don’t actually have to know what is wrong with you, you just have to tell them your situation and how you’re feeling. Whose health insurance are you on?November 17, 2021 at 11:52 am #1100162
Or, in your country, where do people go for mental health help? How do they get counseling? Google it.November 17, 2021 at 12:03 pm #1100163
I’m either on my own or my father’s insurance, not sure. However, neither covers therapy. Perhaps I can have access to a psychiatrist, but that’s all.November 17, 2021 at 12:04 pm #1100164
The only counseling is private counseling. No chance for that.November 17, 2021 at 12:25 pm #1100166
Maybe you should see the psychiatrist then. Your issues seem severe and potentially could be treated with meds. Maybe the first step is to tell your doctor what’s going on and then get referred to a psychiatrist. This isn’t something you can really address on your own.November 17, 2021 at 1:54 pm #1100168LisforLeslieGuest
Something is definitely not right. You have some sort of anxiety and you need treatment. See a psychiatrist. They are trained in mental health and may be able to either prescribe something to help you in the immediate or get you the counseling you need at a reduced rate or even free depending on need.
But you can’t continue as you are.November 17, 2021 at 2:04 pm #1100170BittergaymarkGuest
I agree with Kate. Your problem sounds pretty severe and will not go away on it’s own. You need to see a Psychiatrist. They will be able to help you. You cannot lead a fulfilling life if you are crying all the time.
