Also feeling better than I have for awhile about South Korea and the neighboring regions. I hope president Trump is okay. I’m so excited and happy to see what’s happening in south and North Korea. I’m hoping for harmony. This would be the highlight of trumps acomplishemets if Kim Jon demilitarizes the north.April 27, 2018 at 12:23 am #751201carolannMember
One of my favorite books. I actually haven’t read it, but I have the book on tape version. It helped me a lot. It also helped my husband when he was stressing over his job to the point of ending up in the hospital.May 10, 2018 at 9:46 pm #752429KeybladeGuest
Another ambien night, starting to calm downMay 10, 2018 at 9:51 pm #752430KeybladeGuest
I’ve been anxious lately. I’m looking forward to a good sleep.May 17, 2018 at 9:33 pm #752827KeybladeGuest
I’m going to work more on self soothing skills, but unfortunately not tonight. I feel guilty taking another ambien. I’m going to have to pull it back. I have to get up early and my apprehension has gotten the better of me for tonight.May 18, 2018 at 12:29 am #752828BittergaymarkGuest
The madness of Trump is that religious people somehow blindly think he is a saint or something. As if. Instead — He is mentally defective trash and will only fuck everything up. He has about as much chance of solving the KOREA crisis as I do inventing a time machine and getting banged all night by James Dean while Madonna serenades us with Justify My Love.
People need to STOP taking Ambien and start waking the fuck up.May 21, 2018 at 9:27 pm #753598
Taking another ambien. This will be my last for awhile. I’ll be thankful for any success president Trump and cabinet can accomplish. There are a lot of good people who work really hard in many areas of global protection. I am hopeful for every sitting president.
I think it will be okay. I’m hopeful because what else can anyone else hope for? What else can we do?
I don’t like it when large organized religious institutions encourage specific social activism such as telling members to vote against propositions. I believe this encourages hostility from opposition. Differing thoughts don’t need to be turned into spiritual warfare. I think it’s wrong for churches to take sides. From a spiritual standpoint I believe that scriptural interpretations are best applied as self-directed. I believe when a church seeks political power over democratic elected leaders, the church has gone astray. God will tell, but I feel sorry for people who use Christ god in fear response actions to their brothers and sisters freely living their lives. Gods gospel lifts us up like The service on the mount. It his humility and compassion to feel grateful for this life and the blessing of forgiveness. These Christian spirits are about lifting up the sinner and the sufferer. Because there is freedom in being saved. Freedom for us to love everyone and love everything. There’s no need to join political unrest as we are in a free country which celebrates choice. One must only open their hearts in love and value moral leadership and we’ll be okayMay 22, 2018 at 4:19 pm #753697anonymousseParticipant
Churches have always taken sides.
This was a good fairly recent read.May 22, 2018 at 5:04 pm #753698
@anonymousse-I agree that large collective movements of any kind always do.May 22, 2018 at 7:09 pm #753711
That doesn’t mean I don’t believe in social activism, altruism, or collective defense, collective organization, collective infrastructure. I certainly believe in acting on empathetic impulse and evidence-based reason. I’m somewhat new to the concept but I think perhaps we all do better when we feel securely attached to something which doesn’t change. And yet we all have the margins allotted to us, and a lot of our current choices are largely a result of many other choices that drive and form our individual identities. I think it’s important to acknowledge that our system of social-identity and citizen equality is a historically new concept, many haven’t bought in all the way, and legal justice usually plays out over a long period of time. Faith can provide people an identity and structure they may require. Our systems really are only as decent as the unique players within them, so people can and must continue to advocate for decency and life to the best of circumstances. But it is joyful to hope life’s flawed and flowing nature can, may, and will be reconciled because we are loved despite our internal limits of what we are and of what we think we’ve earned. I don’t think delaying one’s joy in life for what may come after our bodies are in the ground makes much sense. (That last bit just means my somewhat new faith isn’t based on conjectures of heavenly prizes.)
I’m pretty depressed right now, though. I doubt in general people are rational evidence-based machines. Much of what I think and believe is based on what part of my brain and body is currently in operation. I’m still trying to reconcile all my experiences and thoughts about it all. I just know I do better when I try to love others and see them with kindness and humility.
It’s hard for me because I grew up in a Mormon household and I’ve seen both good and bad come from religion, but I can’t say it was a spiritually free system for me, even if it was for some others around me. Perhaps it could have been, if I had been able to live up to the ability to just follow the leaders but in the end nobody is really better than anyone else regardless of how the clergy thought about things.
My comments change a lot because my mind changes a lot. Because I constantly forget things and learn new things. I suppose it’s just who I am. I sympathize with people who feel under-tasked and less intelligent than life in our suggestible information bursting bubble demands we take in, in order to react the way other people expect we ought to react.May 22, 2018 at 7:46 pm #753718KateKeymaster
Are you getting help, or not?May 22, 2018 at 7:48 pm #753720
Yes, Kate. Are you saying you would prefer I didn’t keep writing by asking me that?
