GuestI am currently in a 5 year relationship with my partner who also is the sponsor of my residency visa awaiting approval.
2 Months ago I visited a fine dining restaurant and met a sommelier who had caught my eye. At the end of my dining experience he gave me a dessert wine on the house before kneeling down to ask if he could see me again. I immediately said that I am flattered however I am already taken. He respected my answer and we ended it there. Since then, he had not left my mind and I am considering going back to see him again and to explore the spark we had. He seems to be the complete opposite of my current partner and has the maturity and class that I am looking for in a man. I just feel like I’m a mum to my current partner and in return I have not been invited on a date or been told that I’m appreciated, missed or loved. This has also been the reason why I have not been intimate with him for 6 months now. Looking for advise.

GuestI don’t think the sommelier is the answer. If he saw you from afar, gave you a drink on the house and knelt down to ask when he could see you again, how can you be sure this doesn’t happen for a lot of his customers? If you’re bored with your bf, figure that out. Jumping from man to man is a sign you’re not addressing something deeper.
Dear Wendy
KeymasterWould you still be with your boyfriend if your getting a residency visa wasn’t party dependent on being his girlfriend? I suspect the answer is no, and jumping to another guy you don’t know isn’t the answer here.

ParticipantI think on it’s own it’s pretty normal to get a fleeting crush on someone. I think this is the bigger concern:
“just feel like I’m a mum to my current partner and in return I have not been invited on a date or been told that I’m appreciated, missed or loved.”
Work on fixing this issue and let Mr. Fancy Wine-Man keep his current status as a crush and nothing more.
