GuestI’ve read Wendy’s excellent post and I’m part of a group of activists to help the people in me part of the country (Southeast) get the health care they need. But. I’m still so angry. My husband tonight remarked that I’ve been withdrawn and…I have been and I kinda – knowing it’s not fair – but kinda resent the ever loving fuck out of men right now. Like, why should I pull 50% of the weight when I have less than 50% of the rights? If I ever had 50% of the rights.
Miss MJ
GuestAlso, fuck celebrating Independence Day today.
Kate
KeymasterI feel the same way, except openly angry and expressing my feelings out loud rather than withdrawn.
Kate
KeymasterAnd terrified. These people are batshit crazy and I don’t think they’ll stop until the US looks worse than the Handmaid’s Tale TV show, which has given them a lot of ideas. Except the show has diversity, men who weren’t white I think had jobs for pay, and women of color were Handmaids. I don’t think that will fly. I think we are going back to the 1700s but a lot more violent.

GuestIt’s already happening. This is exactly what I predicted would happen at the 2016 election. I said to people – if nothing else, please vote Democrat to protect the Supreme Court. If that’s the only motivation I can supply, that should be enough.
But nooooo…. no one could possibly predict that once a Republican was in power they’d tee up judge after judge who firmly believe that women are second class citizens, just like the Forefathers did. It’s not like we had 40 years of previews. Nope. Total surprise.
So now we get stories like this:
Or the 10 year old who is pregnant in Ohio and being forced to travel to Indiana for an abortion. And staunch GOPers are trying to say that a 10 year old can consent to sex trying to blame her for being pregnant. A. Ten. Year. Old.

GuestI really have so much hatred in my heart and I’m so tired.

GuestOmg that custody case. So it’s ok to just hand an offender more kids on a platter?! Sick.
Lucidity
GuestThere was a wild article in Vanity Fair entitled ““Pro-Life” Idaho Republicans Declare Women Should Be Left to Die to Save Fetuses” in case anyone isn’t completely filled with rage yet and has room for more.
Sorry I can’t link to it, my posts get flagged as spam.

GuestI’m in the same boat, however instead of withdrawing, I’m being vocal about how I feel and acting enraged.

ParticipantWhat do you mean when you say the healthcare you need? If you’re talking about abortion, that makes no sense. Abortion is never needed.

ParticipantFact dropping:
10 year olds can’t consent to sex
It isn’t your fault for getting r@p3d
Abortion is murder
People who rape are terrible but the baby didn’t hurt you. Let them live. And don’t try to report me for sharing facts.Anonymousse
GuestYou are not sharing facts. Abortion is a personal choice. Maybe instead of attack8ng other women, you should look into getting therapy. My friend had to have a D&C at 20 weeks pregnant. Do you want to know why? Her baby died in her womb. If she didn’t have an “abortion” she would have also died. Still against healthcare for women for some reason? Why?
When I wanted actual children, I didn’t start yelling at women at abortion centers. Something is wrong in your mind if that’s your inclination. You need professional help.
