ParticipantI just read the latest newsletter, loved it, Wendy!
I totally agree about Homeland, it took me a while to get into it, as well, but I ended up loving it. I can´t wait for season 2 to start here (I think it starts next week).
Those boots are almost identical to the ones I ended up getting a few months ago (after a long search), they are so comfortable! And I now have the Sound of Music song stuck in my head. 🙂
Where I live it´s Spring right now, so my favourite Spring things: the weather (except this year it´s horrible thus far), all the flowers blooming, seeing a lot more birds (esp. hummingbirds, which I love). Also planning my eldest´s birthday party (it´s in december but I´ve already started), she´s turning 5, which I find unbelievable still. And I´m going crazy trying to find all things pirate, since the theme this year is Jake and the Neverland Pirates.

ParticipantOh my god, I love Homeland too. The last few episodes of the first season were amazing! Like Wendy, I watched the first season about a month ago.
The Clarisonic is awesome. I bought myself one last February. So worth the investment.
And I really want a pair of “biker” boots this year. That’s what I’m calling the kind Wendy bought. I want this leather pair from Madewell, but I don’t want to spend $250. Maybe I’ll check out the DV ones. I’m pretty thin and I don’t have many curves. I want to wear them with tights and loose, short dresses.

ParticipantI only wore mine with leggings once (I am so not a leggings person), and they looked good, but I mostly wore them with boot cut jeans. I´m complicated with what I wear haha.

ParticipantThese are the shoes I want . . .

I guess they’re a little higher than the DV shoes. Madewell also has a shorter pair.

ParticipantI love my clairsonic so much.

ParticipantThose boots are awesome. I desperately want a pair of riding boots (well not actual riding boots, just ones that look like them) but my calves are too skinny for every pair I’ve tried on. And the ankles are always really loose/wide looking. I think I’m just not destined to own a pair. Huge bummer.

ParticipantI love newsletter day. I read it in bed this morning before my alarm even went off. It’s like Christmas.

ParticipantHave you seen the boot bra Gatorgirl? I can’t find the link but I think my friend found them on etsy. It might be other places too. But, it holds the boot up at the top so that you avoid the loose look down near the ankle. Might be worth checking in to!
I love newsletter day too, it gives me warm fuzzies.

ParticipantGatorgirl – i had the same issue with boots being too wide and found that i could take them to a shoe repair place and have them taken in. It adds a bit to the cost but it is worth it!
Also – is it a bit strange that i had the Sound of Music song in my head this morning before reading the newsletter? Perhaps i am a bit psychic?!

ParticipantOk so, I have been waiting to buy a Clairsonic because it scares the crap out of me. Does it really work well? Does it damage the skin over a longer period of time because of all the extra scrub work on it? I also may/may not have a fear of all things electric. Its like a roomba for your face! Seriously though, roombas will take over the world.

Participant(a) I knew JK must have been the one to start this forum – sorry, “fourum”. (b) I love Newsletter Tuesday too! (c) Today’s newsletter hit my phone at 7:02 am, when I just about to cross Monroe Street and head into work. I had to read it right away, per usual. But it’s really dangerous to read and walk at the same time – if you slow down the mass of morning officegoers will trample you and snap sassy comments like “get off your fucking phone.” So I stepped to the side and read it leisurely. I even let a whole walk signal come and go. Then, I forwarded it from my personal email to my work email so I could remember to check out the links later in the day from my work computer. There you have. That there is The Story About How Addie Pray Read Today’s DW Wewsletter. Riveting, I know!

ParticipantSarahKat – the Clarisonic is pretty gentle and it automatically shuts off after a minute, so you know how long to scrub for. I just use my everyday cleanser and I only use it at night before I go to bed. You could also use it once or twice a week, not every day/night. I personally think it works pretty well. Oh, and you don’t need to buy the one with two speeds. One speed is enough, and saves you some money.
