Hi – longtime lurker, recently started posting. I’ve seen a few different forum roles on here and am wondering if someone could tell me what the difference is between a member and a participant?
No idea, but I think maybe it says you’re a member if you are logged in, and a participant if you’re not. Why?
Let’s test this out. This is me posting, NOT logged in.
This is me posting, LOGGED IN.
When I’m NOT logged in, it says nothing at all. When I’m logged in, it says participant.
In this case I have no idea what member means.
I’m a member when I’m logged in, so I thought maybe a participant is a member who has surpassed a certain number of posts? No reason for asking, just curious.
It’s my site and to be honest, I don’t really know? It’s just part of the forum plugin. Enter the shrugging woman emoji here.
Does it matter too much? Hope not!
Thanks Wendy. I kinda like that it’s a mystery 🙂
