The bum-kissing in the first paragraph probably helped.December 20, 2018 at 1:59 pm #812694

As soon as someone says their own story is a telenovela, I lose interest and delete.December 20, 2018 at 2:41 pm #812699
I’m actually not certain it’s fake (although definitely on the fence). I’m a regular reader of Dr. Nerdlove’s advice column and he is pretty well known for dealing with any and all unusual situations with sensitivity and understanding. He mainly helps men who are clueless about women, social norms, and rehabbing red pill MRA types. It’s not unusual for the LWs to thank him for his platform in their first couple paragraphs.
That said, this LW could just be manipulating his column because he knows this, although I’m not really seeing what he’d get out of it (but idk how the mind of a troll works anyway so there’s that). I have a hard time believing a bunch of frat boys are so accepting of their newly out trans “brothers”- or that not one, but TWO trans women, would feel comfortable remaining in a fraternity after coming out. And that’s what makes me think it’s probably fake. Imma go investigate on Dr. Nerdlove’s main site and see if this appears there too and what the community has to say!
PS I am hopelessly addicted to advice columns lol.December 20, 2018 at 2:44 pm #812701
I too am addicted and read many although never this. I was reading some archives but can’t really read the 20 page responses, bored me.
Any one else already over the new Prudie? Truly gives some awful advice. I barely read it anymore, I usually read the letters, skim her answers, roll my eyes and move on.December 20, 2018 at 2:55 pm #812705
TBH, I sometimes skim his advice bc it’s so.dang.long. I’m mostly there for the letters! But I think his approach is good for the types who write in to him. Same with Captain Awkward. Sometimes the length of the responses actually irritates me. As does Captain Awkard’s super-duper PC content, and that’s coming from me, a blue-state bleeding heart liberal.
I’ve always been a bit meh on Prudie, oddly. My fave column (after Wendy’s, of course!) is Ask a Manager. People truly do insane shit at work, and I am always ready with the popcorn!December 20, 2018 at 3:01 pm #812706
I cannot stand Alison on AAM. If someone says “I ran over my coworker” and someone replies “wow that wasn’t smart” she will scream that you MUST be nice to everyone and never say anything. It is snowflake central over there. Actually, I am moderated simply for saying the word snowflake over there. At this point I actually enjoy annoying her.
I like the stories though, just the fact that she coddles people when they need to be told like it is. Oh also ya no cussing, or talking about the topic the letter is about if she deems it offensive to someone somewhere somehow someday. Frankly Wendy is the only column you can actually get straightforward advice at. Everything else I have read is coddling and people chiming in that “oh you are right”. So basically what most of the non regulars here look for.December 20, 2018 at 3:03 pm #812707
Oh but the update yesterday about the woman who was written up for having pads in her car and the person complained because she was trans. I CANNOT!!
