The rise or return of coke is interesting. And confusing.
    .
I tried it twice — hey, it was the 1990s — and loathed it. I felt manic and crazy and out of control. PS — it was supposedly good coke. Got it from Celebrity Dealer to the Stars. Long story. Blah, blah, blah.
    .
Apparently, cocaine remains a good way to overdose though. You either have a massive heart attack or simply stroke out. Exit stage left. At Any rate, something to have in my back pocket as my life and career continues to careen further and further south…

wow, thanks for sharing. i never done it myself, but in SF especially, its so common (obviously) that everyone at least wouldnt mind doing it when its around, especially for young people. i think its whether you actually go out of your way and buy them to do regularly, or just casually do it if its around at party scenes.

Not sure how i really feel about it since i havent experienced myself and it is so common that i cant treat everyone like drug addicts.. smh.

Interesting-this wasn’t something that I saw at all when I working in SF fifteen years ago. I wonder how much is new vs. my just having been a boring person who hung out with a boring crowd.

Wow. WAKE UP. It’s your date who is the cokehead, girl. C’mon. You keep giving this guy a pass on doing drugs. HE is the one on coke. WAKE UP.

Yeah, i clearly see it now.
Just saying that its so common here that according to my friend what he learned living in sf is
    1 cheese is so expensive
    2. everyone does coke

I think you should look harder for people with similiar habits you have. You shouldn’t normalize cocaine addiction. It’s not normal, it’s not okay.

“Everyone” does not do coke, in SF or anywhere. Only cokeheads say that.

Yeah, agreed. Cokeheads claim that everyone does coke to try to normalize their behavior.

Also birds of a feather flock together. So maybe what they mean is everyone THEY hang out with does coke.

I lived in SF for 2 years after college. Not one of my friends, including me, did coke.

Noooo your friend is wrong, not EVERYONE does coke in SF though there’s enough to make for cringeworthy dating anecdotes. A lot of people do coke but definitely not even close to all. I don’t want you to get the impression that dating a cokehead is an inevitability because trust, you can find a non-cokehead in SF to date very easily. Also it’s not just cheese, everything is pricey in SF (at least from my middle class New Yorker POV)!

SF has SO many wholesome nerds!!! Don’t settle for someone with dangerous habits!!!

yeah i do agree that i should be with someone with similar habits
my past relationships have been like.
    1. guy who depended on alcohol
    2. guy who depended on weed
and now… guy who depended on coke…
i dont do drugs.. but i attract those, haha something must change,
