I don’t think that’s the brand. It pops up constantly so I’m sure I’ll see it again. I searched Tj for years for a weekender too and finally gave up and just got the one i wanted even though it was far too expensive. I use it constantly though so I’m happy with it.
I’d like to do a weekend away gift to be honest but we are about to buy a new car, move and pay for a large out of pocket surgery that could lead to more,so it’ll have to wait.
My grandma loves buying me kitchen stuff so I’m asking for an Instapot. Plus it’s exactly the amount she always spends. I know my mom is getting me a belt I want. Asking husband to renew my Fabfitfun subscription since I am obsessed with it.
Last year amazon has a bundle for the Alexa dot and the firestick so I got that for my aunt and uncle. It was a huge hit and was only $40 for both! Woohoo. I think I got it on cyber Monday.
I usually buy my girl cousin clothes and the older boy gift cards because he always wants video games but I am not buying him a $80 video game. Absurd in my mind.
Stepson I’ll have to think hard about but it’ll be something video game, although maybe clothes since he needs some and couldn’t be bothered to even attempt to go shopping like many teenage boys.September 18, 2018 at 1:04 pm #797998
My aunt and uncle are difficult to shop for since it always feels like they are keeping tabs. My mom and I used to go in on a gift together to get them something bigger and my uncle flat out said it was rude since he didn’t feel I personally spent enough. He’s a freaking pain, clearly.September 18, 2018 at 1:20 pm #798000
23andMe is fun but you also don’t know what surprises it will bring. I’ve got a brand new first cousin that I had never heard of before. We’ve been emailing. His biological mom also did 23andMe so there is no doubt which of my aunts or uncles was his parent.September 18, 2018 at 1:47 pm #798003
I wanted to get it for my SIL ’cause she had no information re her bio dad only that he was a poc. So after talking with her about it, i decided to get it for her birthday, but then i of course wanted to do it and then i thought might as well buy them for the guys too. Hence i found a deal and bought five. lol
@jd, Keeping tabs on gifts is awful. I can’t believe he said you didn’t spend enough. Gross. I send cards to all my aunts and uncles and leave it at that. But they’re also all out of state so i’m sure that makes it easier.September 18, 2018 at 2:17 pm #798006
Ya it’s just icky. This was when i was in college so I’d spend about $25 per person x 4 in their family, my mom would spend $50 per person. He never considers that if we are keeping tabs I just spent $100 and they gave me something worth $50. I don’t care the amount but ya know if he really wanted to be a dick about it. 🙄 I spend more now because i can but I’m still bitter. His “retaliation” was to just give me a small gift card and some random object found around their house. It was so rude. I truly love them but I don’t think I’ll ever really forget how rude it was.September 18, 2018 at 2:32 pm #798009
actually, thank you for this, JD. You kicked my rear into gear! Got the present exchange email sent out to determine name draw and price limits.
inlaws, we already talked with the family and we are doing a photo session when we’re all in town together for Christmas.
My Parents.. who knows. i thought i had some ideas, but they may have slipped (pregnancy brain).
My husband.. uh.. probably just the gift of sleepSeptember 18, 2018 at 2:52 pm #798012
@jd – that is awful! I’d retaliate by just not giving a gift if they are going to keep tabs. And I wouldn’t care to get one from him anyway. Good grief. But that’s me.
When in Hawaii at the farmers market in Hilo, there was a soap maker with soaps that had awesome labels. Such as “Filthy Cock Soap” and “Filthy Carpenter Soap – morning wood”. THere’s a sister one and you can order them online so I’m gonna get my sisters one of those. There’s a teacher one for my brother, etc. I need to get to ordering so I don’t run out of time!September 18, 2018 at 7:37 pm #798040
I kind of want to try a 23andMe style gift. My mother was adopted and we don’t know anything about her side of the family at all, I’ve always been a touch curious. My grandmother’s side is a bit of a mystery too and I think there’s some interesting stuff hidden back there. My husband and I only buy for each other, neither of our families do gifts anymore so he might get me that. I have no idea what to get him, all he seems to like is NFL gear and beer and he buys both of those whenever he feels like it anyway. Unless an awesome video game comes out before Christmas I’m flying blind.September 19, 2018 at 7:31 am #798078
@ange maybe there is a subscription box for those type of things he likes? There seem to be boxes for any and everything these days. I like the boxes because it’s more than one gift! They keep coming. Men are so hard to shop for! If they want something they just buy it.
I do know my husband needs some new work shirts, which just occurred to me as he was getting dressed a few mins ago. For sure will get a few for him. I do like to get gifts people want more than need just because I think it feels like more of a treat. Reminds me of always getting only back to school clothes for my bday since it falls just before school starts. More socks. Uggg. HahaSeptember 19, 2018 at 7:48 am #798080
Oh @ange, where I live, one of the local beer shops has a beer advent calendar. My friend does it for her husband every year and he loves it. It’s 24 or 25 different kinds of local beer. Maybe look into something like that?September 19, 2018 at 7:53 am #798081
Oh has anyone seen those wooden state or country maps you hang and then put a beer bottle cap from each state in a little hold provided. They are pretty cool.September 19, 2018 at 7:55 am #798082
Oh. Found the bag. The brand is Sole Society. Nordstrom has it.
