The selfishness thing is complete silliness. If that’s what you have to resort to to make yourself feel better about having kids, then you probably shouldn’t have had them. Why would anyone be angry at someone else for not having them? It’s so bizarre.
So we potentially have a nasty cyclone coming to my town in the next couple of days. Someone on my local FB page literally said how dare adults buy things to stock up, it should be left for families. That was a new one lol. She went nuts when I pointed out demographically speaking it was other families cleaning out the shelves, not single adults. Still, goes to show selfishness doesn’t dissipate upon procreation.
The selfishness thing is totally ridiculous no matter who it’s referencing. Assholes are going to be assholes, whether they proceate or not. The people who say things like “Having children makes you realize you’re not the center of the universe” make me roll my eyes – if you are an adult who doesn’t understand you’re not the most important person in the world then you’re just….kind of an asshole.
