Just wanted to step in on the potato discussion. I am a Yukon Gold fan all the way. My dad makes them with sauteed onions, so good! He boils the potatoes first, peels them, then sautees the sweet onions till they are golden brown and then mixes in the potatoes with salt. No milk or butter. So creamy and delicious! Highly recommend.Cleopatra_30Participant
@Sarah you do realize you have the ability to NOT respond to any of the comments right? I mean half the time we try to divert the conversation and you just bring it back by engaging with the sarcastic comments. You are single handedly feeding the fire!
EDIT: I know she is probably a troll but oh my goodness…veritek33Participant
1. I’m a fan of Yukon when doing mashed as well.
2. As a political communications strategist, I’m also very curious as to who Sarah thinks will get the Republican nomination? And what exactly is the best vote? inquiring mindsAnonymousseGuest
Sarah, if you didn’t respond, we’d be talking about potatoes. You keep this alive. Also, you are the one who writes the most. You are a trip. Thank you for entertains me tonight.othyParticipant
Guys, this talk of potatoes is making me hungry. On a related note, I’m flying tomorrow and will likely now get a Cinnabon at the airport.AngeGuest
Garbled speech, Republican, delusions of importance, hateful… I think her last name is actually Palin.
And we use sweet potatoes in our house. I think you guys call them yams, we mix in garlic and salt/pepper.KateKeymaster
So, actually, two surprising things: 1) I do think Sarah b has matured in a year, as she’s now modified #anyfuckingthingcanhappenbitch to “Many things can happen.” She also has realized the married boss is a shady piece of shit.
2) No one mentioned a potato ricer. That’s a kitchen gadget that looks and works like a very large garlic press and is the secret to light and fluffy mashed potatoes with no lumps. You just boil the peeled and chunked potatoes the usual way, starting with the water cold, then you drain and put ladle-fulls of boiled chunks through the ricer. It burns calories too! Then you mix in your butter and sour cream or milk.FirestarGuest
Yukon. Thrown in kitchen aid mixer. Paddle attachment. Some people use the whip attachment but I’m lazy and they are great with just being whipped with the paddle. Roasted garlic, Milk and butter or I just dump Ceasar or ranch dressing in.NookieParticipant
Wow, it’s hard to believe it’s been a year already. Sarah B, while I commend you for realising your boss was behaving abhorrently I do not believe that you are in college currently or previously. OR! It is possible that you are a tremendous troll and if so, I’d like to congratulate you again on keeping it up for a year. You deserve some kind of award for internet douchery.
I’m not very good at mashed potatoes, because I hate the actual mashing bit. Well I don’t mind it but the Cockney is a NO LUMP kind of guy. I just put in some cabbage to mask that I didn’t mash them enough. We were actually discussing ricers last night, @kate do you only rice them once with your gadget?
