And I was mistaken — it’s not by the pool.

$1089/mo sounds good given your budget and the alternatives. The rest sound like minor inconveniences. You’d also be surprised the kind of noise you learn to tune out after a couple weeks. We’re on a busy street and just a few blocks from a transit stop for our elevated train line here. It took maybe 2-3 weeks to adjust, but traffic and the train are both white noise to me now.

Earplugs and you can download white noise apps on your phone.

Growing up I lived near an airforce base which also was used by the private sector for client demonstrations and arms conferences. There were explosions and jets flying overhead all the time, after a while you tune it out. I now live near an international airport which has a rail line running to it. There are trains and planes coming and going at all hours of the night, doesn’t bother me either. You will learn to tune the people above you out as well.

It will be fine. Praying for you.

    Hey everyone,

I just want to say thank you for all the advice you’ve given me these past few months. It’s finally happening–I’m moving into my place this weekend.

Last week I posted that Casey story. Yes, it’s things my dad said/did to me, but that’s moot–I was always moving out and now I’m finally am.

Thank you for the encouragement and helping me deconstruct my past because it really pushed me to start a new life once and for all outside this house and the way I was raised. Thanks again.

Are you really? It’s going to be a little sad if you’re lying again.

Sorry but I don’t believe anything you’re saying.

I don’t even believe that we helped you, because basically last week you were still trying to get us to tell you that your dad isn’t an abusive asshole. That’s how you started many months ago now.

Actually, Kate, I keep remembering things that happened to me, and sometimes I get in my head, “Was that wrong? Am I overreacting?” It’s a way to hear from others that I’m not.

I can understand why you struggle to believe me, but I’m looking at my packed boxes in my room as I type this. I mean, I can certainly attest to all the fucked up ways my parents have been reacting to my move if it helps validate I’m telling the truth.

I’m just saying all your encouragement helped.

You said you were moving this weekend. Have you moved? It’s Sunday. Where are you moving to? With that roommate or somewhere else? Have you found a therapist?
