ParticipantApropos of nothing, I found a discussion forum thread started in late 2003 by a guy asking how to deal whis wife not deleting Tivo recordings. It spanned fifteen years and 1400 responses and includes a 2019 announcement that they’re getting divorced.

ParticipantMaybe he should have posted it in a marital support forum.

MemberI once seriously almost ended it after an ex deleted a recording of a show I had been waiting years to play again.

ParticipantI had to install a bigger internal hard drive on the Tivo because BOF* kept filling it up with Hallmark Christmas romance movies. It think that she’s planning on leaving me for a handsome small town widower and his adorable moppet.

MemberBeing home during the day when husband is at work really helps this for us. I watch the recorded female crap he doesn’t to see while doing work at home during the day then delete them. I watch stuff he will like, for the most part when he is home….unless it is some Sci Fi stuff, then I just nap cutely next to him while he watches.

ParticipantI don’t have TIVO but I do have a DVR from the cable company. I actually can’t stand it to be over about 65% full! I start telling everyone that we’ve got to watch the shows so I can erase them! I like to keep it at or below 50%. It’s a quirk of mine…
I don’t think it would be divorce worthy. I didn’t read the entire thread though…to long. But maybe it was one quirk of hers to many?
JD
MemberI like mine around 50 too because I’ve missed shows back when they didn’t repeat them or have them on demand because it was fully and didn’t record.
I’ve always had a DVR and haven’t had TIVO since they all started doing it. My current cable company actually uses TIVO as their DVR service and I love hearing the little blop blop noises. Hehe

ParticipantI didn’t read most of the thread but given that the thread went on for FIFTEEN YEARS, it’s possible other issues cropped up.

MemberDidn’t read it all but it was ridiculous. Thank goodness we didn’t have TIVO, just a DVR and an external hard drive when this issue came up 😉

GuestMy lord there are a lot of people on that thread who had too much time and Tivo knowledge. Thank goodness for Netflix and Stan now, I ended up palming my DVR off to my in laws.

MemberI call it all TIVO. If it records its TIVO. My stepson makes fun of me saying it ages me.
