I have Media Com. Ya first experience with TIVO since my owning an actual TIVO box days. ATT Uverse is the BEST I’ve ever had. Mediacom sucks just because they don’t do the receivers for other rooms that don’t have to be plugged into cable (WiFi) and the cable isn’t where I want the TV in one room. I may now have holes in our walls from trying to feed it through the other day. Somehow it was unsuccessful. Sigh.March 13, 2019 at 3:18 pm #837025CopaParticipant
I have RCN and actually kinda love them (and not just because I haven’t lost my TiVo bloop-bloop). It’s basically the longest relationship I’ve ever been in, but it’s getting harder and harder to keep my rates down. So we may break up next fall, but we’ve had a good run if we do!March 13, 2019 at 6:28 pm #837054FyodorGuest
We had RCN with their rented Tivo when we lived in DC. I agree that they have very good service-they’ve usually entered markets as a competitor to the main cable company so don’t have the same f*ck you attitude.
We have FIOS now and they’re pretty good, we had to buy a retail Tivo and set it up with Cablecards and whatnot.March 13, 2019 at 6:30 pm #837055FyodorGuest
JD, are the bloops gone all the time, or just when TV is playing. Do you still get them in menus?March 13, 2019 at 6:39 pm #837058JDMember

Update : They have been separated for a year, but the guy continues to house her tivos, which she remotely controls and accesses through her iPad.October 14, 2019 at 9:47 am #854481SkyblossomParticipant
I find the whole thing very odd. I think I’d deliver her tivos to her and be done with it. I wouldn’t set them up. Just drop them off. Maybe they like still being connected in this way in a we’re done but no really done sort of way.October 14, 2019 at 3:28 pm #854509AngeGuest
From my memories of reading the entire thread a while back the guy is a really passive sort so I’m not surprised he’s still bending over backwards for her.December 23, 2019 at 1:31 pm #867345FyodorGuest
Update: They are divorced and he got rights to the Tivo in the divorce settlement and is trying to figure out how to cancel her season passes without a blow up.December 23, 2019 at 6:08 pm #867390AngeGuest
I feel like this problem needs more tivos thrown at itDecember 24, 2019 at 9:12 am #867516FyodorGuest
One of the other posters suggested buying a new Tivo so that he could give her the existing Tivo with her season passes. So maybe…
