I am all alone and bored out of my mind in my office this week. I have to do our books since our bookkeeper quit before last year was closed out (yah fun) so I have been watching Netflix in the back round to keep me from slowly losing my mind with data entry.
I feel like I have exhausted all the good stuff on Netflix. Does anyone have any good recommendations?
Oh, Crazy Ex Girlfriend was great. I don’t really like the musical numbers but the show cracks me up 🙂
Thanks in advance guys!March 8, 2017 at 2:21 pm #676537
My husband LOVED festival darling “I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore” and is upset that Netflix basically buried it where no one could find it to watch it. You may have to dig for it but it’s on there somewhere. And of course “13th” if you haven’t already.March 8, 2017 at 2:24 pm #676539
I recently watched the first six seasons of Shameless on Netflix and really liked it.March 8, 2017 at 2:30 pm #676540
I just found out that People Vs. Oj Simpson is on Netflix, which I hadn’t watched. So good.March 8, 2017 at 2:35 pm #676541
I quite enjoyed Damages. The first season was easily the best. The Killing I also liked. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is fun.March 8, 2017 at 2:39 pm #676542
Everyone’s going nuts over Stranger Things. I haven’t watched it yet, but my husband has started it and says it’s really good. I was excited for A Series of Unfortunate Events, but I watched the first couple of episodes and couldn’t get into it. I don’t feel like the mood is right, and I don’t like any of the actors in their roles. Except for I guess Joan Cusack, who’s excellent as always, but she’s only in the first two episodes I think. I thought the movie did a better job of capturing the feel of the books. The child actors were much better, and I preferred Jim Carrey and Jude Law to NPH and Patrick Warburton.March 8, 2017 at 2:49 pm #676544
Anon from LA
Seconding The People v. OJ. Definitely one of the best TV series I’ve seen in ages.
I’m nearly done with season 1 of The Crown. It’s great if you like slow burn character dramas.
Stranger Things is flawed but riveting. If you like suspense and want to binge something, give a shot.
If you’ve got Amazon Prime, drop everything and go watch The Americans. It’s flat-out brilliant. Every episode is fantastic. But it is kind of a slow burn, in the vein of Breaking Bad, which I know is not for everyone.
If you’re more a comedy person, John Mulaney has a comedy special on Netflix that’s really freaking hilarious. I believe you can also stream Archer and 30 Rock on Netflix.March 8, 2017 at 2:56 pm #676545
I liked Stranger Things. And the Crown is on my list. Thanks for reminding me.March 8, 2017 at 3:00 pm #676546
The killing, the fall, stranger things….of course, the office, parks and rec, 30 rock.
I want to watch the people vs oj, but my husband has no interest, so I’ll have to shelve that for now.
The Americans on Amazon prime! I just started season 4 last night.March 8, 2017 at 3:06 pm #676550
I haven’t watched it, but I’ve heard GREAT things about The Americans.
Not to totally hijack this thread, but does anyone here have Apple TV and can they recommend it? I’m debating cutting my cable and using only streaming services. Currently only have Netflix.March 8, 2017 at 3:10 pm #676551
I don’t have Apple TV, but I have Roku, which I recommend. I looked at a few types, including Apple TV, and one of the things that I researched was what sort of apps each one supported. (Due to competition reasons, they sometimes will make it difficult or impossible to use certain apps/media.) I knew I wanted access to Amazon, Hulu, and Netflix, and that I didn’t care much about iTunes, etc.March 8, 2017 at 3:21 pm #676555
anon – I think we have the same taste in shows. I love the American’s too!
Not sure if you can watch Justified on any streaming services, but I loved that show. IMO, it’s one of the few drama’s that features likable yet flawed, strong female characters. And it features men who actually like women.
