So I asked my aunt how she always knew everything. She knew what I was talking about but she said honestly she didn’t know. Combination of some radio, newspaper, and people telling her things. But she seriously knew about anything and anyone you’d bring up, celebs, whatever.
She’s behind on everything now though, except the World Series which they let her watch on TV with the sound low. So I told her about the caravan and Whitey Bulger getting it, and some other stuff, but not the shootings.
She’s much better, and walking up and down the hall with a walker, even doing her own nails (not polish, but with all the little tools). She had me cut a long eyebrow hair that the nurses said was fine.
Soon she can move out of nursing care into something a bit more independent, but not all alone. She’s SO much happier now that she’s with people all the time.
Our youngest daughter (18) is always calling us old. I’m only 42 (ok I’ll be 43 next month) but I keep telling her I’m not old! Her father is only going to be 46 next month. But to her I know it seems we are old. I remember thinking that the 40’s were old when I was around her age.
