Bad timing. Both Nikon and Canon just released mirrorless systems to catchup to Sony. Nikon publicly stated that they are not abandoning DSLRs but it’s also not obvious that there is room for 2 roughly equivalent camera lineup in the long run. So it’s still a toss between mirrorless and DSLR and it’s not obvious that DSLRs won’t disappear in the long term
It’s top of the line DX body and it has the most traditional (and usable) button layouts of their DX DSLR. You might want the 1 zoom package because it seems to be a better reviewed kit lens and has image stabilisation. Now true Africa wildlife safari would really be a 300mm or better 200-500mm zoom game but that will have to be a separate purchase.
