My hair stood up to the heat and humidity of the south wonderfully in the middle of July using a Kerastase anti-frizz heat protectant before blow drying (unsure the actual name, I think Kerastase Thermique?) + that brush.April 1, 2019 at 4:48 pm #839478emGuest
Thanks Kate; I do braid my hair a fair bit. Air drying my hair doesn’t look good, sadly.April 4, 2019 at 10:21 am #839889emGuest
I have finally found an affordable, anti-frizz product that doesn’t weigh down my fine hair: Livon Serum, from Indian grocery store but also on Amazon. $7 for what will probably last 6 months to a year. Recommended to me by new boyfriend of all people.April 4, 2019 at 10:30 am #839891
On the topic of hair, I tried switching to sulfate free shampoo and it left my hair a greasy mess near the root. Now more than ever a big fan of sulfates.April 4, 2019 at 10:39 am #839893KateGuest
Yeah, like I said above, sulfate free shampoo doesn’t remove silicone buildup (like what’s in your Kerastase), although some sulfate-free shampoos have this ingredient coco-something-betaine, which does remove silicones. I use one of those (Wella Elements shampoo), and it does a good job of keeping silicones from building up, then every few weeks I use a clarifying shampoo.
I have highlights and fairly curly hair, so I like to avoid sulfates as much as possible, but they’re not the end of the world by any means.July 15, 2019 at 8:52 am #848123hfantodsParticipant
“The brush” dryer is part of Prime day! Mine still works after two years (knock on wood). I packed it on a short weekend trip and it was light enough and compact. Because of a new haircut I’ve had to use my straightener a little bit but otherwise I minimized the use of the straightener which keeps my hair healthy.July 15, 2019 at 9:15 am #848126
Are we talking about the big round brush? Cause I love mine, but feel like it takes up so much space in my suitcase when I travel! It’s basically the size of my leg! I take it anyway. My hair has stood up to summer humidity in Nashville and Savannah with that brush.
My first one crapped out after like a year — though tbh I think it may have had to do with an electrical issue going on in my apt and apt building at the time — and I repurchased.July 15, 2019 at 9:26 am #848127KateKeymaster
They sell a bunch of knockoffs on Amazon now for less than the Revlon-branded one, and Youtubers seem to think they work exactly the same. They definitely look the same.July 15, 2019 at 9:34 am #848129hfantodsParticipant
Yeah! I think of it as the size of my forearm but thicker… so about between a forearm and a leg 😉 it does fit in a small suitcase though!July 15, 2019 at 9:49 am #848130
A knockoff is also part of Prime Day. Truly debating buying it to keep at BG’s cause I haaaate schlepping mine back and forth.July 15, 2019 at 9:51 am #848131KateKeymaster
Worth it, I think, and then you’ll have a backup if the current one breaks.July 15, 2019 at 12:21 pm #848137KiciaParticipant
Thanks for the heads up! Just bought myself a backup. This brush is seriously life changing.
