I have an idea for you. When I am at home I can so easily be distracted…the internet, movies to watch, Netflix shows, etc. But when I go into my office I focus and get work done. My job allows me to work at home but I NEVER do it because I would just procrastinate and goof off and I know it. So drive to my office each morning and there I can be productive. What if you stay at school an hour after every day and work on homework before you go home. When you are in college go after class to a study room at the library (no dorm/friend distractions) and go over your notes, read the chapter,do the problems…BEFORE you go back to your dorm. You will slowly create good habits. You can do it! I’m rooting for you.February 15, 2019 at 8:29 am #832615
i wonder if you might also have ADHD (https://www.additudemag.com/adhd-dyslexia-connection/)…..one of the symptoms is lack of motivation and avoidance of activities requiring sustained focus….i have the same problems at work, where if no one is relying on me to complete certain jobs I will put them off until the last minute….maybe with that diagnosis they would reinstate your IEP?….i find once i get started on something i’m ok….its just the motivation to actually get started that requires a huge effort….my goal this year was to keep a running checklist of what i need to do and each day force myself to accomplish at least one task on the list
