“I feel like I’m drowning in it all”
@Howdy Wiley, it might be good to step away from it, then, until there is hard evidence put out there. There is an over-the-top story which was put out by Buzz Feed right before CNN reported a less solicitous account documenting the possibility of Russian sources having potentially embarrassing information about president-elect Trump.
Trump was essentially claiming CNN was reporting on the Buzz release which wasn’t true. It made it easy to completely dodge questions from the “biased media” network. The whole thing seemed theatrical and timely to me.
Our intelligence agency knows that a foreign power involved itself in what one could argue was the most effective media-spun propaganda campaigns in US election history.
I am not clear why Trump is running a campaign to come down softer on Putin and the Russian government.
I think it is important that citizens who don’t want other nation-state interests entangled into our foreign policy don’t allow their attention spans to get burnt out and become unmotivated to watch and hold congress accountable. It is so easy to get burnt out from 24 hour news cycles. That is why it is important to know when to step away from diversion tactics and limit the information one exposes themselves to on a daily basis to credible news sources.
Forget that last tidbit about trolls. I do think trolls and spin will continue to be part of information manipulation for as long as remains effective in influencing elections. I suspect it will just get worse.
