Gerrymandering and the electoral college got Trump elected. He did not get the popular vote.
And why did he get so many votes? Mostly sexism.August 28, 2019 at 5:00 pm #851160
Yes, sexism and racism, and the electoral college. It is very disturbing that 40% of Americans seem to approve of him no matter what, but he didn’t win the popular vote, and I truly hope people get their heads out of their asses this time and get out and vote for whoever else is running and isn’t Trump.September 23, 2019 at 12:52 pm #852916BittergaymarkGuest
So… Pelosi is ultimately nothing more than a gutless hack. Honestly? The entire demoCAN’T party is nothing but a useless ineffective joke.September 24, 2019 at 4:34 am #852960
Really? Pelosi must announce right now they’re impeaching Trump even though it wouldn’t pass the senate? Meanwhile they already ARE impeaching him, they’re just being less overt and calling it an investigation. And Pelosi said yesterday if the whistleblower complaint isn’t released, it will elevate the investigation to a new stage. Which means articles of impeachment.September 24, 2019 at 5:00 am #852962LisforLeslieGuest
Every Democrat needs to be shouting in front of cameras that this is a blatant example of treason. Every news outlet worth their salt needs to be airing those clips and not opining that it “might be ok if the we like the president”. Republicans who ignore this, and Russia and emoluments and locking up children in cages need to face re-election against candidates who repeatedly point out their lack of response indicates they don’t “follow God’s tenants, don’t love America and don’t love justice”
Pelosi needs to take a lesson from Trump – she needs to get all in a tizzy and make random threats distracting the white house about something unimportant while simultaneously push for impeachment. The fact that she hasn’t learned that Trump can’t focus on two things at once?September 24, 2019 at 6:03 am #852965
I’m pretty sure women and democrats can’t get away with hysterical and unhinged behavior, unfortunately.September 24, 2019 at 6:18 am #852966
And correct me if I’m wrong, but as soon as she comes out and says impeach, that brings an end to the investigations they have going on, and they have to play exactly the hand they have. The longer game makes sense to me. Edit: because it *won’t* pass the senate. It will fail. No matter what he’s done in plain sight, Republican senators won’t impeach him. Now or ever. And then he wins. I totally get Pelosi’s position to just keep investigating and exposing, and let people vote him out in 2020. Though of course there’s the very real concern of the election being rigged in various ways.

I mean Peolosi should use the Democrats in congress to distract and disarm. Give the WH something else to focus on. Doesn’t have to be some hysterical meltdown. I mean float some hardcore bills on gun control that will totally distract repubs and fail. Or propose free birth control and HPV shots for anyone between ages of 12 – 24. I mean distract and confuse.September 24, 2019 at 11:05 am #852976ronGuest
L for L — I think you need the presidential pulpit to wage a distract and confuse campaign. Even then, I think you only have a chance to come out ahead on this approach if the public already thinks you are a narcissist and otherwise a terrible person. You have nothing further to lose in terms of the perception of your character. This sort of works for Trump, because he has actual serious things to hide, which he doesn’t want the public and media to focus on. Innumerable points of focus works in his favor. He also has a no-pretense-of-objectivity conservative media establishment to promote his game.
This approach doesn’t make sense for Dems, as they should want the public to focus on Trump’s misdeeds. What is served by adding the distraction of Democratic chaff to distract the public at a time when Trump’s goal is to fill the sky with chaff? That is just helping him. Distract the president? He’s the most distracted person to ever hold that office. He doesn’t want to, but also seems unable to stay on point. He’s hoping to hide behind a cloud of smoke long enough to be re-elected. There is literally nothing the Dems can do to split Trump’s base from him. Best to act sane and aim for the rest of the electorate, which isn’t Trump’s 42%.September 24, 2019 at 12:15 pm #852982QuarkGuest
Omg, omg, omg*
*if it’s actually true.September 24, 2019 at 12:19 pm #852984
Yeah, she basically said that already. It sucks though that her hand was forced, because again, it won’t go through senate. And because they’ll now have to stop investigating. I don’t think this is a great thing.September 24, 2019 at 12:27 pm #852989quarkGuest
Day in, day out hearings will help bring a lot of new things to light. Imagine Cohen and Comey, but for months.
I think that will sway the public opinion, and with that, some of the senate. People vote for racists and sexists all the time, but people don’t wanna vote for thieves, especially when it’s their taxpayer money he’s been taking.
If that fails, let every one of those who support him go on record and vote that they support him despite it.
P.S. The base will still vote for him.
