I’m going to vegas this week for my birthday and I’m trying to pack and plan accordingly! I’ve never been before so I’m trying to figure out what to pack and where to go. I’m gonna bring a pair of runners and maybe some sandals? I’m from Canada and we’ve had such a bad winter so I’m not sure what to bring. A spring jacket, t-shirts, jeans? Or should I bring some capris? A few people I’ve talked to say to bring long pants cause the nights get cold? Any input is welcome cause I have no clue.March 10, 2019 at 4:41 am #836262
I leave on Monday so all the help I can get is appreciated 🙂March 10, 2019 at 6:07 am #836269
Well it’s gojng to be a low of 40 and a high of 65 the time you are there. Since you live in Canada I’m guessing a light jacket would suffice since 40 probably isn’t too cold to you. Yes I’d bring pants. Are you planning to have a nice dinner or go to clubs (what most people do in Vegas) because a nice dress and appropriate shoes would be important. Most places like that will have a dress code. But yes to some comfortable shoes since you’ll be walking a lot. Cab lines take forever there so a lot of walking happens if you don’t want to wait 45 mins. It does get cold at night because it’s the desert.

Right, what JD said. I go to San Diego in late March/early April when the daytime temps are 60s. It feels cold to a lot of people who are from there, and they’re wearing like, a light puffer coat.
I’m from Boston so I bring jeans, a maxi dress, spring jacket, some long-sleeve tops and light sweaters as well as tank tops, sandals, sneakers that are cute. I even bring shorts.
But in Vegas you will need nighttime attire. I’m not sure jeans will cut it. I would bring at least one dress for night, with like a high heel shoe or bootie. And jewelry and little purse.
Also bathing suit and cover-up.March 10, 2019 at 10:31 am #836312
I went to Vegas once in late October/early November. It was mid- to high-60s during the day, so too cold for us to want to go to the pool. I was fine during the day in jeans and short-sleeved tops because it was temperate, sunny, and dry. I think I brought a lightweight cardigan around during the daytime for if I got chilly. I think if you’d be fine with one lightweight jacket. Can’t remember what shoes I wore during the day but I think I would’ve been fine in sandals. I was also fine in dresses. And yes to packing a dress or two appropriate for a nice dinner or going out.
I did Vegas the Vegas way (day drinking + gambling + clubbing), but there’s plenty to do even if that’s not your scene. I’ve heard good things about the Aquarium. There are some very good restaurants (we went to Bouchon) and even some of the buffets are really good (Caesar’s). You can see shows (we saw Thunder From Down Under because it was that kind of trip, but there are tons to choose from).
Whatever your idea of fun is, enjoy the warm weather!March 13, 2019 at 4:47 pm #837037
During the day – check out the Neon Boneyard https://www.neonmuseum.org/the-collection/neon-boneyard You’ll get some great pictures there and learn some cool Vegas history.
The Mob Museum is also interesting. https://themobmuseum.org
If you’re up for a jaunt off the strip for dinner Trattoria Nakamura-Ya was great! Japanese style Italian food. Definitely something a bit different, but delish! https://www.nakamurayalv.com/
