Thanks @lucidity. Logically I know all the things you’re saying are true, and that the arc of history bends toward progress, but I just can’t shake this totally hopeless feeling about the future. Even aside from this Handsmaid Tale shit, the environment and the economy and just moving completely backwards. I’m afraid that by the time she’s an adult our country will be so impoverished because we’ve handed all wealth to the ruling elite.
