The author was also the subject of this piece in 2010:
I’m very curious how she got a book deal and that the book blew up the way it did. I tried to read the book once or twice but it never hooked me and I’d put it down.August 24, 2019 at 10:55 am #850899BekahtravelsGuest
That’s a really good in depth article (the one from the New Yorker). I’d be curious to watch that television special! I also think that people are equating her feelings around what happened in Africa with the ending of Where the Crawdad Sings… and maybe a commentary on her ego- equating herself with Kya (the main character) being justified in her actions but must always keep it a secret? It’s interesting…August 24, 2019 at 10:57 am #850900anonymousseMember
I sorta want to read the book now, ha ha. There’s an extremely long waitlist at my library. I’m #772 in line!August 24, 2019 at 11:47 am #850903bekahtravelsGuest
I think is worth it to read, but my friend bought it and let me borrow it! What the New Yorker article doesn’t mention is that Delia Owens is now divorced from Mark.
