Literally why? Every time I say something about God, someone will roll their eyes or something. I’m sick of having to convince people that I’m not brainwashed.
Christian beliefs people say I’m “phobic” or “terrible” or “brainwashed” for believing:

    God exists
Jesus is the Son of God
    Homosexuality is a sin
    The Bible is truth
Abortion (killing unborn babies) is murder

Things people think I do that I don’t:

    Hate everyone
    Want guns for all Americans
    Vote for Trump
Go to private Christian school (not anymore and
    there’s nothing wrong with going)
    Never date
Yell at people all the time

Jesus never said homosexuality is a sin.
Jesus never said abortion is murder.
Have you ever even read the New Testament?

Why is it that extremely traditional Christians think they are the only Christians.

Extremely traditional Christians should live their style of Christian life and leave everyone else, including millions of devout mainstream Christians, alone to live lives consistent with their personal beliefs, Christian or otherwise.

Because almost none of them have actually read the Bible. Because they are loud mouthed with their foul opinions of people on earth- the thing Jesus did not do. He was friends with prostitutes and the penniless. Go back to school.

People don’t have a problem with real Christians who follow Jesus’ example by being loving, compassionate, non-judgmental, helping the poor, supporting equal rights for all, not being racist, not being misogynistic, not being homophobic. People have a real problem with folks using a twister kind of fake Christianity to try to control other people, support white supremacy, and kill democracy.

MUrDeR has always been a sin. In the New Tesamnet it does say homosexuality is a sin. YOU read the Bible.

    Show me the verse.

The New Testament – Scripture Study

    Romans 1:24-27
Most New Testament books, including the four Gospels, are silent on same-sex acts, and Paul is the only author who makes any reference to the subject. The most negative statement by Paul regarding same-sex acts occurs in Romans 1:24-27 where, in the context of a larger argument on the need of all people for the gospel of Jesus Christ, certain homosexual behavior is given as an example of the “uncleanness” of idolatrous Gentiles.

This raises the question: Does this passage refer to all homosexual acts, or to certain homosexual behavior known to Paul’s readers? The book of Romans was written to Jewish and Gentile Christians in Rome, who would have been familiar with the infamous sexual excesses of their contemporaries, especially Roman emperors. They would also have been aware of tensions in the early Church regarding Gentiles and observance of the Jewish laws, as noted in Acts 15 and Paul’s letter to the Galatians. Jewish laws in Leviticus mentioned male same-sex acts in the context of idolatry.

The homosexual practices cited in Romans 1:24-27 were believed to result from idolatry and are associated with some very serious offenses as noted in Romans 1. Taken in this larger context, it should be obvious that such acts are significantly different from loving, responsible lesbian and gay relationships seen today.

The Gospels report the words of Jesus. If you are hanging your hat on the section of Romans quoted by Kate, that is not the word of Jesus.

Abortion is not murder, because a fetus, especially an early month fetus, or what those who want to protect ‘life’ from the moment of conception call murder which doesn’t even count as a fetus, is not a person. It is not a baby; it certainly is not a child.

And, with your “I don’t hate gays”, you are just following the slimy extreme traditionalist Christian propaganda that you don’t hate gay people who are celibate forever. If someone has to deny whom they are to not be hated by you, then all wordplay aside, you hate them. When you are a strident ‘Christian’ and say homosexuality is a sin, then you hate them. Note: you did not even stick to the script and say homosexual ACTS are a sin. You said that homosexuality, a sexual identity people are born with, is a sin. That’s hate.

You were hating on homosexuals over on the main page and I believe your comment was indeed edited. Again, with good reason.

    Oh, nope, here it is:

“Oh it’s terrible that he would cheat on you at all. But him being gay makes it even worse. Leave him and find a husband that is wayyyyyy better.”
