Another thought: The negative pushback you get in life may be more about your personality than your religion. Like, you just completely flooded a website with very aggressive comments pushing your agenda and calling people lunatics and murderers and saying they’re going to hell. People don’t hate “Christians,” but they do hate trolls.

I do have to say I doubt as many people hate Christians as they intensely dislike you, OP. What’s the saying? If you run into an arsehole in the morning you ran into an arsehole. If you run into arseholes all day, you’re the arsehole.

Yeah, maybe if you weren’t so totally crass and violent with your rhetoric you’d have more friends.

You don’t consider what other people are saying, you over generalize and just spew out hatred.

Spewing out hatred is pretty much the opposite of the teachings of Jesus.

The Bible also told lots of parents to sacrifice their living children, have incestual relationships and not eat shellfish but I don’t see you trolling any sites about how we all need to ritually sacrifice kids or stop eating crabs.

Who is the real Christian here? Not you.

God told us shells were improper for nutrition! Why won’t anyone listen to me?

Believe what you like….but do not push that on others, or insist that laws be passed to force everyone to think and live the way you do/want to. Practice your beliefs and just shut up about it to others, especially if they have other opinions.

If you are who you say you are, you’re a teenager. One who has grown up in an extremely conservative chapter of Christianity. Your approach is combative, argumentative, and aggressive. You disparage people you don’t even know (calling them names, telling them they support murder). You’ve said repeatedly you’re smarter than the myriad of intelligent people here without knowing them. As others have said, I’m not sure it’s hatred of Christianity you’re running into. Generally people don’t want to be around someone who speaks down to them, insults them, and always thinks they’re right and they have nothing to learn or take away from other perspectives.

Abortion is a much more nuanced and complicated issue than “a fertilized egg is a person whose right to life supercedes every identified need of the person carrying that egg”. Things like – the Catholic Church (ever the paragon of women’s rights) had guidance as far back as the middle ages explicitly instructing that, if a pregnancy or birth has become dangerous, to sacrifice the fetus and save the mother. Saint Thomas Aquinas’ writings cover this. Modern abortion bans like heartbeat bills directly oppose this directive. A fetus can be unviable for a number of reasons, but still technically have a heartbeat (for a limited amount of time anyway) and while medical professionals wait for that heartbeat to inevitably stop because those laws prevent an emergency abortion, the pregnant person faces possible sepsis, losing her uterus, invasive infection, and death. This isn’t a hypothetical, it has literally already happened since roe v Wade was overturned.
-Banning abortion has no significant statistical impact on the number of abortions performed in a country. None. All it does is force women to self perform or seek unsafe care. Anyone who supports a woman dying in a botched procedure is not pro life. I really encourage you to research this specifically. The absolute most effective way to eliminate abortion is to provide free, readily available hormonal birth control. If your goal is to actually stop abortion, not just ban it, this is the way.
-Pregnancy and birth is dangerous. The US has some of the worst maternal mortality rates in the developed world, especially for women of color. I go back to the teachings of Saint Thomas. It’s not as simple as “have a baby and give it up for adoption and skip on your merry way!” You’re telling women they are forced to face death for a pregnancy they don’t want. This isn’t a decision someone should be allowed to make for another person.
    – Most women who seek abortions are living below the poverty line. It is deeply immoral to force a woman to have a child in a country that does not offer her competent healthcare to ensure she survives the pregnancy, no paid leave from her job to care for the baby, and when you vote for a party who overwhelmingly votes to shrink the benefits, like food stamps and medicaid, that the child and mother will need to give that kid a fighting chance.
-Have you looked at the current state of our foster care system? It is absymal. Burdening it with hundreds of thousands of additional children annually will literally collapse it. Private adoption is obscenely expensive for would-be parents and, sadly, often not even an option for women of color and/or living in poverty who are pregnant.

I’m sure you don’t agree, but other religions in the world are just as valid as yours, and many of them hold abortion as a specific, moral, and god blessed right. Same with homosexuality. You can personally believe that this isn’t the case, but decimating the rights of others because of your own personal beliefs isn’t something a good person does. Period.

When we’re young, we’re so sure we know everything. I truly hope you stay in school, work hard to go to college and travel the world – experience different places, different people. Expand your worldview. Then come back here in a few years and see if you still stand by the way you’ve behaved.

God told one man to sacrifice his kid but didn’t let him go through with it. We don’t follow Old Testament laws anymore. Read the Bible.

That was a child that could live outside its mother’s body. That’s a person.

I’m well aware. God dint let him do it. It was a test to see if he would do anything for God. I don’t think God would ever let anyone do that.

Honey, this isn’t a Christian website. We’re not here to debate, understand, or otherwise discuss the religious text you personally subscribe to.
