Isaac wasn’t a person, neither was Abraham. It was a book written by numerous men hundreds of years after a man named jesus lived. It’s a made up book of morality tinged creepy incest stories meant to keep women and children in line and obeying the menfolk.
At the end of the day, this is another example of someone bending a religious text to suit their own personal beliefs. Or, rather, a young person who has been heavily manipulated by an evangelical sect whose ultimate goal is to control her, her body, her autonomy, and prevent her from meaningfully participating in the world because: men. Hopefully she’ll deconstruct one day. It’s tempting to argue scripture, because she’s fundamentally wrong even by the written word of her own religion, but someone that deep is only going to hear what they want to hear.
Dude what? God says murder is wrong. The New Testament commandments are what we follow now. We don’t follow Old Testament laws anymore. Read the Bible please. We only follow Old Testament laws that are also commandments in the New Testament.
