It’s time again for “Dear Wendy Updates,” a feature where people I’ve given advice to in the past let us know whether they followed the advice and how they’re doing today. After the jump, we hear from “Living With Regret,” who was nervous about telling her new boyfriend about the misdemeanor she got a couple years ago when she took the blame for her then-boyfriend’s marijuana possession. After the jump, find out what happened when she opened up.
I just want to say thanks to everyone for the advice! I ended up telling him over the weekend and he was completely fine with it! I warned him that I had something about my past I had to tell him about so he’d expect it when I saw him … and so I wouldn’t chicken out! He said it wasn’t a big deal and he actually told me he loved me over the weekend!
I was just so nervous about admitting my mistake that I didn’t give him the benefit of the doubt that he would and should accept me for who I am today. So thank you guys for all your support! It was nice to get opinions from other people!
And to whomever asked, yes it was Bonnaroo. Never again!
Good for you! What a sweet, happy ending (or, beginning, really).
