Update: “The ‘Feelings Talk'” Responds
It’s time again for “Dear Wendy Updates,” a feature where people I’ve given advice to in the past let us know whether they followed the advice and how they’re doing now. Today we hear from “The ‘Feelings Talk‘” who had been seeing a guy for a few months but was still unsure about their status. While they were apart over the summer, he’d text and call her but make no effort to see her (even when he was in her town!). She wondered how best to initiate a conversation about what his feelings for her were. Her update below.
Hmm, now I’m thinking I need to do a post about the craziest things we’ve heard that made us realize we dodged a bullet. “I want to re-virginize myself” would be right up there. Can anyone beat that?

Ages ago (undergrad college), I met up for coffee with a recent ex. He used the opportunity to inform me our break-up was “just us teething.” Two months later he was dating another girl; they got married about a year later.
All in all, it was a big “Nope” for me.
Awhile back I had an ex send me a fb message asking me whos red truck I had gotten into earlier that day (my current bfs). Creeped me out big time, definitely dodged a bullet.
Hang on, I’m going to get popcorn!
Revirginize is fucking hilarious!!
I had a guy, after about 6 weeks of dating and red flags everywhere which I ignored, tell me that he was addicted to porn and was “still using” and “not clean” which was why he couldn’t even kiss me.
He proceeded to go to NYC and meet up with the Chinese foreign exchange student at NYU that he’d met on OKCupid, returned, broke up with me because he was “still using porn”…and married her 5 months later.
Fun times.
I was working crazy hours that were somewhat set in stone. They changed my schedule a couple of times which was highly unusual but I was going to make a ton of money for last minute schedule changes and being paid to stay home (gotta love union jobs!!!). I was seeing a guy for about 2 months and had to cancel a couple of dates due to the schedule change so he had a talk with me that there were too many “red flags” since I had to reschedule a couple of dates. I broke up with him after that. I don’t have time for whiny guys that can’t understand a huge paycheck increase for a minor inconvenience. His insecurities came out early so I’m glad I dodged that bullet!
Perhaps the ultimate ‘revirginization’… after a torrid few months, he tells me it’s been his life long dream to join the priesthood and he left the following week.
“ I have to have this tracker on me at all times so my mom knows if I’ve been kidnapped by the police” He’s 40 and we live in Canada.
