Updates: “Facebook Addict” Responds

It’s time again for “Dear Wendy Updates,” a feature where people I’ve given advice to in the past let us know whether they followed the advice and how they’re doing today. After the jump, we hear from “Facebook Addict” who was concerned that some girl kept “liking” her boyfriend’s status updates and wall posts on Facebook. Keep reading to see if she’s still worried.

Thank you, Wendy, for posting on your column. The opinions really helped me look at the situation in different ways. As I have mentioned, I have approached my boyfriend on the subject numerous times, but I decided to ask one more time. Yesterday, he showed me the girl in question’s facebook page and activity; she has a tendency to “like” many people’s posts or videos, not just his. He said there was one time that she had tried to flirt with him while drunk and out with a group of friends, touching his leg and being suggestive, but he turned her down. Apparently she is attracted to a group of his friends, including my boyfriend, but most are in a committed relationship or do not hold an attraction to her. I felt a lot better hearing that. We are now living together and I have a better peace of mind.

Glad to hear it!

If you’re someone I’ve given advice to in the past, I’d love to hear from you, too. Email me at wendy@dearwendy.com with a link to the original post, and let me know whether you followed the advice and how you’re doing now.

Some girls are just attention whores. Your BF sounds like he is smart enough to realize that and already has. Don’t pay her any mind.

Well, it sounds like a little bit of everybody was right, this girl was a facebook fanatic, but was also crossing some lines. Good news, you have nothing to worry about!
